Yeah, I was wondering about that myself. I found it surprising that KLM had decided to go with Boeing when NW had decided to go with Airbus.
I had read in an issue of Airways magazine a couple of years ago that if NW was to place an order for new aircraft, that NW would most likely consult and place a joint-order for new aircraft with KLM, considering the alliance between the two.
I guess this would explain the reason KLM decided to purchase some A330-200s.
