Lightbulb The 762 will be replaced by the new 762.

Both UAL and AA had the -200 first because Boeing offered the -200 first, both airlines continue to operate the -200's on thier less dense trunk routes.
If you would like a new -200 Boeing would be happy to make a fresh copy for you, they delivered a new 767-200(ER) to Kazakhstan Airlines just 2 weeks ago.

You will see Boeing update this airframe along with the powerplants, avionics and interiors and continue to offer it for years to come, I expect the new (short) version to be named 767-600 or something along this line.

While orders have been slim for the -200 for the last few years you need to realize that; some airlines are now operating high-time 767-200's that they will be looking to replace shortly.
