Exclamation >MODEL REVIEW< StarJets JAL B747-400

My JAL fleet has grown today with the arrival of my 3rd, the 747-400 in new colors.

SJJAL107- JAL B747-400 (New Colors) (In-flight)

I checked the model with the box photo which shows all the graphics are in the right place. Yes,
the box has a photo of the real plane, like the previous two JAL releases. On the subject of boxes,it unfortunatly lacks the JAL 50th anniversary logo. Not sure why it's missing since the other two had it. The stand is the typical white, in it's own package.

Back to the model, it lacks the lights and other markings along the top of the fuselage as seen
one other 747s. This was true of the DC-8 as well, but the 727 had the light. Also, there are no
step markings on the wings. Neither of these points really bother me since it was obviously made to order for the airline, and as an exclusive model it's meant to be different anyway. Other than that, it's in typical StarJet quality (by which I mean perfect) No blems, crooked gear of tail. There is no extra plastic covering the wheel hubs, or excess glue. I was somewhat disappointed that there were no gear doors since this was promised a long time ago.

Score: 85%. Another pretty much boring white livery, but still very nice since it compliments my other two JALs. The same quality as SJs other 747s, except for some missing detail. And again,
still no gear doors.

I'm looking forward to the final model in this series, the 767-300 due out the first of October!

Until next time,
Jet-flap
