As I understand from many collectors, VA has not give licenses to collectible manufacturers that offer British Airways items, although there are people that has some samples (don't ask me how do they get them). So, I'm with you in the same path.

Samples are often made as a way to show a particular airline the quality of the model while seeking the authority to produce it. Because these samples exsist, it is not unusual for a couple of them to go to important retailers. What is unfortunate about that is, some who have been lucky enough to get samples show them before production or even worse, sell them for profit. And as collectors we compound the problem by buying them.

If SJ can't mass produce the Virgin, they should start churning out the BA's - would love to see them in my collection.
