Thumbs down Re: New Eva 747-400 Koala Festival

If this livery was produced on real aircraft it would look tasteless..

i thought this was old news? unless im thinking of something else. ive been seeing alot of these on ebay over the past few months, but never really took notice what scale they were. i wish this bird was more readily available in 1:200!

not to start a fight here (just want to hear the reason why you say so) but what would make Qantas Wunala, Malaysia hibiscus/heliconia, and all the other colorful liveries of the world not tasteless?

correct me if im wrong but this livery has something to do when eva flew some koalas to taipei
Happy Koala Couple Flies EVA to Taipei Zoo

Yeah, it is a nice livery. Too bad it is not in use, and AC doesn't have anything special

In my opinion this livery is simply too busy, the combination of colors is 'too happy' or just a little ridiculous. The lack of white creates overwhelming rainbow of colors and makes hard to notice Koala Bears. But I do love hibiscus/heliconia, Singapore special livery, FINNAIR - Santa Claus, when well known logo of an airline has a nice touch and it doesn't get lost in special livery.

Yes, this little fantasy was created a few years ago and it never applied on real plane.

it was never applied on a real plane, although i remember EVA had several display models of this livery specially made for them and the event.

EVA had been building up publicity that it was an advocate of the environment, hence the emphasis on green, and this sponsorship of some koalas.

everyone thought at that time that they will indeed have it on a real plane, but i suppose the event they sponsored was over in a short time and it wasn't cost-effective to have a real jumbo splashed with this much paint.

Trie to contact ebay member ( johanchang ). It was from him, that i bought mine. Wasn't cheap but, i went for it anyway, once i only collect the extreme colour schemes of actual airplanes ( even if they don't exist, wish is this case ), and the absolute classic jetliners, form the 60's to the 80's.
Presently looking for a Aeroclassics VARIG 747-200 old colours. If anyone have one for sale ( for a nice mate price ), give me a call.

Thanks Twinjet. I will do that. I normally do'nt do fantasy models, but this one is just nice, a little loud on the colors, but I like it.
