Default It's all so familiar...and yet totally different!

I was a diehard collector of 1:500 for around a decade...from when Herpa started in the 90's (when I was in high school) until I bought my first house and a new car a few years ago. The financial burdens of life put a damper on collecting and with over a thousand models, I felt I had enough! To tell the truth, I couldn't afford to keep buying at the rate I was, so I stopped. Once I stopped, I found myself cruising the forum less and less - it was too hard to see the new models coming out and not want to buy them!

I've been coming back here and there to look and now that I've started posting again - jeez! It's nice to see new life in 1:500 with the Inflight and Jet-X selections! Someone has to keep Herpa honest. When I left I don't think there were any dedicated competition to Herpa, just the odd 5Stars offering or the occasional Hogan model. It's giving me the itch to start collecting again!

I'm going to have to go through the collection, pick which models are important to me that I want to keep...then sell the rest to pay for the new ones I want.

On a side note...it's great to see that DAC is still here and going strong. This was always my favorite forum!

Hello NN99 and other 1:500 aficionados...

I am SUPER excited a new project that will see 1:500 get the attention and awesome models that it deserves at prices which are more affordable than many of Herpas current offerings and with accuracy yet to be seen in 1:500. I can say with certainty that work has already been started on several moulds and the prototypes look incredible. Several liveries (across the globe and timeline) have been chosen to be first out of the gate but no ETA just yet. I wish I could say more today but I will definitely post photos of these future beauties when the right day comes.

That is good news...and thanks for the warm return!

I am collecting again...but my funds are restricted. So I will turn to cannibilism to get it done (or I could play the lottery!) I sold about 100 models a couple of years ago to members here...I'll have to get out my list and sort the collection into the must haves, the ones I like a lot and the ones I could let go. Once I get the cash rolling in...I can grab some new models!
