I haven't been a big Herpa buyer for a long time , BUT I just got their
VARIG 777-200 and could not believe the quality! If they keep making great models like this they could give Starjets a run for my $$$.

Any other suggestions from anyone on which other Herpa's I should buy that are comparable to the VARIG in quality as I am very picky when it comes to details.

Thanks,

Bill

I only started collecting Herpa since they came out with the "New Generations". They have made vast improvements on their models/moulds, but their details are often still lagging behind starjets/Schuco/Big Bird releases. Their biggest weakness is their window details (757/767/777 cockpit windows come to mind). Still, they have managed to come up with some gems. I have all their 717s, their Bangkok Airways are excellent. Their Continental 777 with the Peter Max scheme and the 767-400 house colour is also one of my favourites. One thing Herpa is still really bad in is the metallic/chrome colours they use. Their AAs are horrible, and they use a plain light blue paint for their bmi's. And I won't start on their baby a'busses. They do come out with a nice (albeit sometimes odd) range of airlines. And nice prices
