Default Surprised at the new Herpas

I have always disliked Herpa but was pleasantly surprised today when I saw their latest round of releases which include the USAirways 757, the Swissair 747, the America West 757 and the Varig 777-200.

While I still feel Starjets makes a better product, Herpa is now producing a model that brings it into the same realm as the competition. The most noteable improvement overall was the landing gear on all four planes (747, 757, 777). The nose landing gear on the 757 and the rear landing gear on the 777 are very good. The printing on all four models is also well done. One of the weak areas that I picked up on was the 757 engine, it looked too small. I was also impressed with their recent A300 American Ailinnes Club Model release (should have been a regular release though).

It's sad that they were not producing this caliber of product two-three years ago consistently. Their A320 still needs a lot of work.

Default Herpa'a

Hey Steve just received the new Herpa's and the Air Canada 747 NG is one of the best I've seen from them. If you can get it go for it.

I just ordered the AW 757, the American A300, the US AIR 757 and the Northwest 747. I guess I picked the right ones.

Default Herpa's 777

I think Herpa's 772 in New Generation mould is better that Starjets'. BTW, Herpa has not released the 773 in NG version, has it ?
