Default New Herpa Releases

Just stumbled across Herpa's next wave of beauties in the 1/500 scale:

-CP Air DC-10-30
-Air India A310-300
-Hapag Lloyd 737-800 (new scheme) NG
-Hawaiian 717-200 NG
-Air France A340-300 NG
-Emirates A330-200 NG
-Thai A330-300 NG
-LAM 767-200ER NG
-American Airlines 737-800 (retro livery) NG
-Azteca 737-700 NG
-Southwest 737-700 (new blue scheme) NG
-Qantas Link Bae146-300
-KLM F-70
-US Airways Express Dash-8-100

Killer lineup. I'm immediately scoring the CP Air, Air India, Thai, LAM and KLM F-70. Great work Herpa!

I've been ridiculed for this statement in the past, but I'll be scoring the CP Air and Air India despite the crappy old gear. Would be ideal if they were NG versions, but those liveries are too sweet to pass on...big, skanky wheels aside.

I can't believe Herpa still makes older versions...
All new HWs must be NGs by now...

The only OG Herpa i have ever bought are the SWA 737 Shamu and the BA Landor Concorde.

I was so disgusted by the landing gear that I ripped them off and replaced them with the scaled gear from some Schabak 1:500 planes that i had mothballed. Now those two planes look excellent like NG models!

I guess you could call it a case of two wrongs (Herpa OG and Schabaks 1:500s) making a right.

Wow...now there's a man of action!
As nasty as those old gear are, the planes are still must buys if the liveries are what you've been waiting for (ie: Air India and CP Air).

Norb, I know how you feel.

I bought a Schabak 1:500 scale Qantas 747-400 that is the only part of my 500 scale collection cuz I just needed to have the qantas livery. I bough two other Schabaks (a JAL 744 and KLM 744) that the decaling was so bad I could not accept them (the mothballed ones I alluded to).

The Qantas, although decaled, is not bad (maybe I just got lucky) and has the wrong engines. But it will do until a NG or Star Jet release comes along.

The US Airways Dash 8 looks good. But I'm like you the Old, Huge wheels are terrible. The make the plane look really bad. But the NG are great, almost as good as SJ!

Parvezq:
It's great that you were able to find some value out of those Schabaks. I never bought any (mercifully)...they make some great liveries though...hopefully Herpa and StarJets will continue to fill in the blanks...
Top wishes:
-PIA 747
-Royal Air Maroc 727
-Air Afrique DC-8
-Egypt Air 707
-Alia Royal Jordanian 727 or 707

Old Herpa...Bad

NG...Good.

Do they have any 744's in liveries that are worth a damn like the Peter Max 772? I'll consider those, but anything else..ugh.
