The Thai Royal Barge 747-400.
Is this an acknowledgement of StarJets' new competition? Why would someone pay 10$ to 15$ more for the same plane? Steven |

Can you say "seams"?
Actually, I don't care. They're all good looking. Also BB has numbered cards with most models and are limited to 1,000 units. I think SJ makes 2,500 each unless specified. I will admit, I do like the numbering of models as it makes them more "collectibles" than toys in my opinion.

it is REALLY US25 only. so the seam and the number card worth 5 bucks.
the 20 bucks is for shipping from hk to US, the rent, and of course THE profit. having read about the production cost of a BB in China is about 5 bucks it seems that whenever the model travels one place to another (China-->HKSAR-->US) the price it's listed will be increased by 20.

I know of two reputable retailers in the US who are selling Big Bird models for $40 US each. I am not suggesting they arent worth $40 or even $60 apiece. However, if another manufacturer is producing the exact same model and selling it for between $20-$25 each, my money goes with the cheaper option.
Simple. The disappearance of a seam doesnt equate to the disappearnace of an additional $20 out of my wallet. Steven |

The problem is I don't have friends flying to HK every other week a plane is released. Then even if I had a friend that lived in HK the shipping cost for them would make it a couple dollars cheaper but still more expensive.
