Here are my coments:
Herpa : the old generation : maybe the print is too simple and the gears is not real. but i like the metal gears because i can roll them on a table. the new generation: much better! the print is increased in a large scale compare with the old geneation. StarJets: The print is the best i think. however the mold and 777 and 747 had a big gap fitting between tail stablizer and the mian part. C&C honestly, i don't have any of the c&c. but i saw that their gears are bad. the cockpit of 747 print much lower than usual. eg:747 snoopy. so i don't buy any. hey guys. please give out your comments. just say it loud!!!!!! |

for overall quality I like Starjets best, I started with aerominis, then herpa and now only collect SJ's.......and for sclae 1/500 is where it is at for me, I know it is silly but 1/400 boxes take up way to much space.....
Regards, Bill I would like to hear any feedback on the Ansett 747-400 being sold by a new manufacturer.

oh! you mean big bird! it is not a nick name! according to Ansett 744, the quality of their product is quite good. almost same as SJ. or even beter due to the disappearance of the gap fitting. the landing gear is real enough. but its name .............sounds a little bit strange................BIG ? BIRD?

even i have few 1:500 models, i have the following comments.
one word for herpa's og - bad. n the ng qualities r not that good, like the Airbus 321/320. C&C is worst of the worst. at least herpa pays licence fee to the airlines company which justify the high prices of those special paint models. but C&C ask for high prices without paying any licence fees. they made a great fortune. starjets, so far is the best in 1:500 but it will has a hard time with herpa's ng. |

I heard that the qaulity of BB is pretty much close to SJs...
But I decided not to collect 1/500 anymore due to too much demand on 1/400s... ![]() |

My personal preference is for Starjets in the 1:500 scale. Better landing gear than Herpa.

I like both SJ & HW old & NG.
Only buy models that we like, and can afford. Regards, Juan J. Ft. Lauderdale, FL (new in town) |
