Default Wings of the Red Star - 1:500 Collection

OK, so I've posted my masses of An-12s and Tu-154s in the 1/200 section. Here's the bulk of what I really collect - 1:500. I started off collecting the odd Schabak and Herpa OG around '96 or '97, but with the advent of Herpa's Russian moulds, I became hooked on collecting. I received a Canon 550D for my 18th birthday last Sunday (which happened to fall on the 100th anniversary of the Russian Air Force too!), so I finally got around to photographing my collection - anyway, here's my entire Soviet fleet (and a small portion of the rest of my collection).

Nice....especially love the Old CCCP colours IL86....seen that every time at LHR. Would be great if Herpa would do the IL62 in same colours.
Dont you have the TU154 in those colours, with Olympic and without Olympic titles ?

Seen the AN225 2 years ago on our home airport....well, impressive, but beauty and elegance is something else

Unfortunately not. This is the *only one* that has always managed to escape me! I found out about that model a bit too late midway through 2006, and it had sold out by then.

I know this is subjective - personally, I find it a beautiful airplane. I just love its proportions, as well as the shaping of its nose. Also the fact that it looks less...cumbersome...than the An-124 with its double tail. I would, however, agree that it's not an elegant airplane. I think elegance can be exclusive from beauty - elegance is something that VC-10s and Concorde have!

True, VC 10 was a beauty....also loved the slim lines of the 727....long gone and changed for bumby Boeings and all boring Airbus....

Impressive fleet there! Not to take off any value of those models, that table of yours must be a real classic! A little refurbishing and you will have the Rolls Royce of tables in your living room

Indeed, this would be a very nice model - I wonder why they haven't released it yet.

Haha, thank you. Having shown these photos to quite a few people, I'm surprised how many comment on either the table, or the couch.
