Question British Airways Landor colours

Hi fellow collectors....just would be curious in general.

Would there be enough people interested in seeing BA Landor coloured aircraft (talking abt BAe146, 747-200/400, DC10, Tristar, 737-200/400, 757, 767 and 777) in NEW GENERATION in scale 1:500 ?

I personally would buy instantly alone 20-50 744, 737,757 and 767 to push my London Heathrow 80-90 airport plan forward.

Are there any other BA Landor addicts ?

Seeing abv would be so , as it was one of the best liveries in the airline world (personal opinion of course).

So, would producers have your thumbs up for this plan ?

Me! I have a BA Landor 741 by Bigbird. I was thinking of buying the Inflight500 B 744 Children's Conference, but its livery is not purely Landor. I will certainly buy a Boeing 742 and 744 if they were available.

See, another geek. I think I have 5 of them to make LHR look better, but of course 744 is missing. I have the conference and 2 Asias as well, but the pure one would be oh so good....and not the old ugly Herpa ones.

I collect exclusively 747s. Many of my models represent aircraft that could be seen at lHR in 1990s, when they were so many of them. We certainly lack a NG Landor 744 in our scale.

YEs, I agree. and speaking for LHR in the 80ies and 90ies, we are lacking many, many more airliners....its nice that everyone takes care abt say 60ies and today....but I think espcially 80ies is completely under represented.

You are right. In my collection, I have the following 747s I spotted at LHR in the 1990s (other than BA):
Air India 744 by Starjets
Air Canada 744 by Bigbird
United 744 by Starjets
Pakistan 743 by Inflight500
Malaysia 744 by Starjets
Thai 744 by Starjets
Qantas 744 by Starjets
South African 744 by Bigbird
Singapore 744 by Bigbird
Cathay 744 by Bigbird
Virgin 744 by Bigbird
Korean 744 by Inflight500
so this period is well represented in or scale, unlike the 1980s.

Doesnt seem that Landor has too many fans here for 1:500....

@747....good range. The AI and PIA I still miss, other than that looks well.

80ies are represented at my side with 747`s...

I have

TWA
PA 747-100/200 and SP
SAA 743
Saudia 747
RG 743
CX 747 o/cls
NZ 744 ocls
VS 747

could be more though...

Cant recall when CX and NZ switched from LGW to LHR and also when VS moved in....

Count me in for a 1/500 Landor fleet, especially a Landor 744! All we have at the moment are some Herpa OG Landors and a few hard to come by Big Birds. Although there are quite a few '90s livery 747s that I want (KLM, United Battleship, Northwest Bowling Shoe), Landor is at the very top of my list.

Also, I wouldn't take the lack of responses as an indicator that there are few Landor fans here, just that there are few 500 scale collectors here.

Glad that those were made, especially the Tristar and BAC 1-11 were seen frequently in LHR.

But as I said, the other workhorses of BA fleet are completely missing in new generation in Landor colours.

Would give a lot for 737-200/400, 757, 767 and 744 in these old colours.

Hi,

I loved BA in the Landor colours, so refined and regal and english and very eye-catchingly smart looking. I have the B732/B752/B763/A320/B772 in plastics (Wooster type) and the B744 and DC10 in Die-cast. I dont have the BAC 1-11 or TriStar yet ironically and the Concorde too. I pay big for a 1:200 Concorde....
I am chasing a B722 as well in a BA Landor scheme but think it was in a very slightly varied BA Landor c/s. Check ebay for those Landors you are chasing....they do (some) come up from time to time....and check other country ebays too....

oops.....sorry, forgot to mention that I only collect 1:200s ....I see you are wanting them in 1:500.......I agree re your 90s LHR set-up....it would look amazing with a fleet of those various Landors in it......

Hello, I have a 1:500 Landor Trident to sell...... Please bear with me here...

.....It is the model of G-AWZK..... None other than the one now preserved at Manchester (in BEA livery). After withdrawal in 1985, it was used at Heathrow for training duties for many many years, and carried Landor colours for most of that time.

It may be old, but it certainly wouldn't look out of place in an '80s and '90s Heathrowesque type airport!

Here it is:

Oh yes, and the model:

I'm a big fan of 80s/90s liveries and agree that they are under represented in 500 scale. I've been waiting for ng landor for a long time now, and hope they also produce some classic 80s air france, lufthansa...

OK, having received some feedback, also via mails and PM, and the support for Landors is definetely there.

Would ask you now....

WHICH of these types in Landor would you like most then ? Pls vote....

747-400
737-200
737-300
757
767
777
SH360
BAe146

Pls give me your votes.

I already had a chat with Herpa and possibly they are no completely ruling it out. My suggestion is to do a limited Herpa Wings Club Model, say 1500 or 2000 pieces first to see how this yesterday issue would go....

The DC10 maybe less, as Inflight already produced them.
But 777 wld go well I presume.

My personal favourite would be the 737-200.....now that they have done it from Air France we want the next classic !!!
