Default Special Release from Skyjets400!!! What is it?

Skyjets will be annoucing a special non-DC-8 exclusive release for December in the next few days. It will be limited to 1,000 pcs. and will not be released by Gemini after Skyjets' release. How about some wild guesses on what it'll be and maybe we can have Ruben give whoever is the first to guess right a free model of it?

Anyone care to take a stab at it?

Edwin

Maybe a Brathens 737-200 or Iceland Air 757. But whatever it is, I am sure I will be ordering one.

Well, last year they had the Finnair "Santa" 757, didn't they? I think this year it might be Finnair again, this time on an MD-11 (OH-LGC) with Santa Claus on it.
(See photo: http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=081580 )

Hopefully I'm right. I don't care if the model is free - that would be a cool release!

Cool Finnair Santa Claus MD-11

Hey Rick, I thought the same thing! Would be nice if it were true. It would go great next to my Finnair Santa Claus 757 I bought from them last year.

Maybe it will be the ANA Peanuts 744 in a special all white box! (Just dreaming here folks.)

Hope they have an L-1011 this time. There are so many interesting retro-TriStars in delivery colours to do, e.g. ANA, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, ALIA, TWA, LTU as well as such great examples like to Delta Bi-Centennial (well, I know, this is more a wish list than probable news from SkyJets400...).

I'd like to think it'll be another 757 though...

The Eastern Electra is `travel agent' size tho. 1/72 or 1/100.

Seems to be a lot of Scandinavian theme speculation.
Any reason why other than last years Santa Finnair?

I would love the Greenlandair so even if its not this Skyjets release, maybe GJ will bring it out anyhow.

I'll second that Greenlandair 757- very sharp livery! It also looks pretty good on a Dash 7, but I think that's just wishful thinking for a Dash 7.

Madame Cleo told me it's gonna be a Western Pacific 737-300 in original colors..."Call Me Now!"

The Finnair Santa Express 757 is one of my favorite models. Count me in on just about any Holiday Special edition model they come out with.

It'll be something really obscure--my vote goes for a TAESA 767-300.

Cool

I'd love to see the Greenlandair 757. It's a clean but interesting livery that we don't get to see here in the States. Greelandair only has one jet in their fleet, and the aircraft is owned (and I believe operated) by Icelandair. That brings up another great scheme....how about an Icelandair delivery colors 757?!?

Okay, if it IS definitely a 757 (according to Homer) then I would guess it's an Icelandair 757 with "Holidays" titles (see photo: http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=137515 )

I'd like to see that model, but I'd still prefer the Finnair "Santa" MD-11.

As for my Scandinavian scheme speculation, I suggested the Finnair because it has Santa on it (holiday-related) and the Icelandair because of the "Holidays" titles on some planes. Kind of a coincidence that they're all from the same general area of the world I guess.

How about a NORMAL Icelandair 757? That'd be much better.

Cool

That Greenlandair is pretty sharp, but the engines look like they were mounted upside down!

I like the Iceland "Holidays", but I agree that a regular version would be better for the collection.

Actually I could have sworn the Eastern Electra I saw advertised was 1/200 scale.

Default Greenlandair's nacelle are from Icelandair's original scheme!

When the Greenlandair was done Iceland still had its ice or sky blue color. I like it!

Don't think so, unless Fate is the Hunter is released on DVD (I don't think it has).

Take a DC-6 or DC-7 model, cram four turbojets on the tail end and modify the horizontal stab, then clean up the wings. Butt-fugly aircraft, I'll hafta agree -- I'm glad it's a fictional jet.
