Wink Nothing beats a Jersey Girl—especially if she's a Virgin!

Introducing Office Desk Airport's latest acquisition, DW #55108 Virgin Atlantic 744 "Jersey Girl" (G-VGAL).

For anyone wondering about the quality of DW, this model is a prime example of why they have a superior 744 mould: the wing-to-fuse attachment is very much to scale (ie: no big, honkin' seam), correct engines/pylons, accurate nose shape, etc., etc., etc.. As hit upon in other threads, the somewhat wacky DW wing dihedral and plastic gears may leave something to be desired. However, IMHO, the "big picture" is perfect—she is a stunner!

Enjoy the pics!

Great model.
Totally agree with you on the superior DW B744 mold. I've always spoken highly of this mold and certainly miss it. I think their newer releases have a small issue in the printing (window). It just didn't look right when I held the QF Socceroos B744 model.

But yes, their older release like this one is a definite keeper.
In fact, as a fleet collector, I don't have any other B744 VS model but this one. I had all of the GJ VS B744 Exclusive at one stage but was not a fan of their B744 mold, so I sold them all.

So, what's next on the agenda?

Cheers,

H

No, she will run long haul to raid the office 'fridge!

Hennessy,
I sold my DW QF Socceroos. I bought it as a special livery, but it just wasn't special enough, so I'm sticking with my DW QF VH-OJH and DW/FC Nalanji.

I have about 41 744s in my collection and the majority are DWs. Again, it comes down to the big picture—DW has pretty much everything correct. They just lack the detail of some of the other manufacturers. My issue with most of the other moulds is the wing attachment—I can't get past the big seam. Dragon and AV400 have it right in terms of scale, IMHO.

I have just placed an order for the DW 747-8F. I am expecting great things, so once it arrives I'll post pics.
