Default Airlines you DON'T want to see!

Alright.

There has been a great deal of hype with regard to airline liveries that we would like to see produced.

However, lets take a moment and list some airlines that we DON'T want to see.

I presented this topic on another thread. However, it was buried with other material and I think many people missed it.

List any airline(s) that you like. There is no limit.

I will begin.

1) American
2) United
3) Delta (any)
4) British Airways
5) Braniff
6) Ozark and Texas International

I just want to see what kind of a reaction I'll get on that last one from the Chicken.

1. Braniff. (Unless it's Braniff II)
2. Deltaflot, Deltainterim. Both schemes are ugly and available on every 1:400 plane I can think of, except 727's.
3. CO (nc only---I REALLY want some gold/orange/red)
4. Fantasy schemes, such as MDC Green/Blue on the MD-11 prototype. :Þ
5. NW oc--another ugly scheme highly prevalent, while gorgeous red/grey is rare.
6. BA World Tails---we want stripes and grey!
7. TWA/AA interim---hello, where are our red twin-stripes? Do those before AA decides to forbid all TWA schemes.
8. Pretty much anything that's not a common scheme used on a large number of planes by a major airline. It took a LONG time before we got the AA MD-80--the most common plane in the world, but we got Braniff 747SP's a while ago--which was one heck of a rare plane (3, according to 747SP.com) , used for just a bit in the early 80's. I'd like to see some TWA 727's, United 737's, Northwest 757's, Lufthansa A340's, etc, before "Rare scheme used on 1 plane for 6 weeks from this one airline that existed for 6 months from a country you've never heard of."

AMEN to that - there are those who collect special or one-off versions only tho and good for them that certain of these are available. It bugs me that a lot of the very very common ones, those mentioned above plus a few others that are seen frequently, have been ignored. Such as:

- TWA MD-80 series
- Continental MD-80 series
- Northwest current colours DC-9 and DC-10
- Air Canada A330 and A340
- TWA L1011
- United 757
- JetBlue A320
- Anything Air Transat (L1011, A330, 757)

(Sure I admit to having a North American bias.) Granted licensing is a factor for some of these but it is funny that much has been made of the problem of getting Gemini's Delta MD-11 and 777 going. Considering Dragon has already made these two, why not put the effort into getting something produced that is not yet available, but that we see everyday in our skies?

I personally don't place too much emphasis on how common or rare a particular scheme is or what part of the globe it comes from. If I like the way it looks and I have enough money left, I will buy it. Now, I do agree that any number of liveries have been overdone lately, and for the time being I will most likely skip any Delta, American, Braniff or Northwest. I would like to see more Lufthansa (on it's way from Schuco - may be overplayed like the above before too long, though), non-AA TWA, oc Varig, Aerolineas Argentinas, and any number of smaller carriers...

My $0.02 worth

I think we have too many UA's or AA's already. I'd really like to see some more CO old colors especially the meatballs.

I'd like to see more international liveries.

Agreed. But there's no need to turn the truth up side down. We already have a variety of common schemes around, from past and present. Just focus on the numerous "common schemes" of United, Pan Am, Delta, Northwest, American already avaialble in 1/400!

We need a 'good and health' mixture of all different kinds of airlines and schemes, including common ones as well as rare ones, regular schemes as well as special schemes, North American and European airlines as well as those from South American, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Talking There aren't any!

Yes, I do care less of Euro-White, but an Airline is an Airline! I love Aviation History and who can dispute Aviation History.
Bring on them all, even if I don't have space to accommodate them.

This is tough because whatever I don't like I just dont buy. Take Iberia for instance, (no offence to Iberia lovers) I could care less how nice or pretty it's gonna be. I don't have a personal history seeing one either take off, land, or fly for that matter. For that reason I dont buy any jet that I cant relate to in some way. My $0.02

No Kuwait Airways or Malev new livery! Malev had a beautiful livery, one of the classics, and they changed to that dreadful livery that makes it look like something is wrong with the nose, whyoh why?????

Iberia on a Gemini 757--that'd look VERY nice. I'm also partial to it as the only Iberia planes I've ever seen were 4 757's at the factory, all lined up. Great photo-op.

Last time I was at Barajas in Madrid, I obviously saw so many Iberias it was amazing. Several 727, 757, DC-10, and 747. I've always liked the bright red, yellow, and orange colors and the way they cheatline sweeps over the top of the plane. They just look elegnt to me.
