Smile Pinks also great! Is Dar behind this.

These will go great with the Gemini L-1011 and Aeroclassics/Jet-x l-188.

Well, I am looking for PSA in every scheme, and this takes care of most of it! The "bad news" is we still need more: a 737 in pink, and the older thin red stripe scheme in 727 and 737. And some people may be waiting for the orange MD-80's.

Thanks!
Kurt

"Pretty in Pink"

I like the GSE with it as well. Does anyone know what, if any, GSE this is coming with?

Maybe those are not to far off...
I wouldn't mind the MD-80's or the 737's. But I still want that BAe-146!

I agree, it's high time we have the BAe-146. I know if I was Jet-X or Dragon or Gemini, I'd want to be the first one out with a regional jet! The challenge is on!

While I think the Bae series of aircraft are 'cute', most liveries do not work well with it as the titles are most oftentimes hidden by the engines.

IMO, we could do well with several other regionals than the Bae series like more BAc-111s, CRJS, Embraers, etc.

Thumbs up Pretty in Pink!

The TOP of my personal PSA list! ALLLLRIIIIGHT!!!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Jet-X!

Although PSA only flew a few years in the pink sunset, I think this was one of the prettiest liveries ever. I had gotten so used to the older (and much loved locally) twin red cheatlines and red rudder of the PSA planes, that when one day, the bright pink, orange and red striped and still happily smiling 727's started showing up I was flabbergasted! They were modern, fashionable, racy and exciting all in one! Continental, United and others were going to the three colored cheatlines as well, but this was still different!

As a kid I remember standing goggle eyed at the windows of Hollywood/Burbank airport watching all the pink airplanes, tugs, airstairs and baggage carts run around. When they later added the yellow Hughes Airwest DC-9's with THEIR periwinkle blue GSE and Continental showed their GOLD, GOLD tails and bright stripes... well, it made the once drab, old Lockheed field look like a flying circus! Could there ever BE a more fun place for a kid to fly out of??!?!

....The excitement of the reversers roaring as the planes came to a stop on the tarmac in front of the terminal... The pink nose, gleaming like some sort of confection as it turned into the gate, the huge grin giving the metal bird an actual personality... an attendant would open the departure door and you could hear the shrill of the engines and feel the warmed, kerosene scented air blasting in! Show your boarding pass at the door and walk out onto the warm concrete, suddenly emersed in a miasma of sight, sound and smell! The beautiful colors shining, the big smile welcoming you as you walked out and around the port wing to the aft stairs... MAN! Check out the flaps and ailerons! Look at how big the navagation lights really are! Just LOOK at those beautiful colors! This is going to be a fun flight! Hey! There is a LINE at the back to walk up! COOL! You get to really check out the big (for the time) engines, feel the radiant heat at close quarters, gaze upon the tall raked and purposeful tail, the elevators blocking the glare of the sun over your head allow you to better see the rainbow of pink, orange and red climbing the tail, makng it look faster and taller than it really was. You queue up under the rear of the plane, that #2 engine idling directly above you.... and as it's your turn to board, you begin the ascent, seemingly into the belly of the plane.. your ears suddenly feel as though someone has stuck cotton into them, but no, it's the incredible insulation cutting you off from the outside world. Suddenly you're no longer being viscerally attacked by all things mechanical, as you become aware of the smell of fresh coffee brewing and you see before you row after row of pink and orange seats, Flight Attendants in their pink miniskirts parade up and down the aisle as if on a catwalk fashion show... even to a pre-teen they hold a certain fascination. And at last you find your seat, a crisp new PSA inflight magazine in the pocket before you. You don't really care about the articles, those are only interesting to the fellows in the suits, sitting in the other seats, but EVERYthing by this point is neat! Takeoff is still minutes away, but by this time you don't CARE where you're going or why, you've just boarded a PSA jet and it's going to be a great flight!

Thanks for bringing this all back for us Jet-X... the wait and the trip were well worth it!

Great story AirDar,
That was a fantastic post. I loved PSA as a kid too! Seeing them take off and land at San Diego's Lindbergh Field brings back many a memory. Though I never flew on one, it was my favorite airline. Man, I remember all those 727's, they were LOOOOUUUUUUD as hell, unlike these lovely but sisified new generation aircract that are too quiet.
