Hello to all...
I think it's now time for me to post also messages in this forum because this is the first place where I'm going after I've turned on my computer.
As many others of you I was beginning around 10 years ago with the HERPA WINGS but for several years all highlights of these collection are gone for all the GJ, DW and JXs.
So I hope to give also some interesting comments and if you have a question about FRA don't hesitate to contact me.

Welcome StillAir!

Nice to see someone living close to me! I live in Neuwied, near Koblenz. I used to work in Weisenau for several months last year. FRA is my first choice when spotting aircraft, though it´s always a one hour drive.

Viel Spaß im Forum und mit 1:400 Modellen!
Gruss

Arnd

Default Welcome

This is your Captain Speaking. I would like to welcome you aboard Still Air, this is a great site to learn and to stay on top of all current releases new and old and future. Its also a great place to meet new friends with the similar intrests. This place used to be a very pro Gemini Jets/Anti Everything else forum, but there has been a strong influx of people who have unbiased opinions that have made it a "Friendlier" forum to participate in. There may be a little light turbulence in your flight, but for the most part it should be smoooooth going. Have fun and enjoy the ride, if there is anything we can do for you, just let us know, and as always.......thank you for flying DAC!

Hi, StillAir and welcome to the forum!
I visited your local airport on the 4th July and had a great time on the observation decks. I even saw the aircraft I really wanted to see and that was the LanChile A340. Also saw the special scheme Gulf air A340. I`ll be there again soon thats for sure!
One thing I was`nt happy about was the lack of retailers selling Dragon and Gemini models at the airport, infact all I found was Herpa rubbish, only 1/500 not even Herpa 1/400.
With probably the best observation decks in Europe that attract millions of visitors every year I was very suprised that there were no decent aviation shops. I expected to empty my wallet at Frankfurt, but it came home full!

Where in Germany do you buy your models from?

Have fun!

M

I only have one Herpa, a Lufthansa A340. I bought it around 1993 just to have an A340.

Yes I have been collecting at least 10 years but mostly I prefer OLD TOY planes from the 50s-60s.

I bought my first Schabaks in Frankfurt Main and also a battery-operated Lufthansa DC-10 with blinking wing lights. The year was 1984.

Better yet, get one of each card you can get your hands on. Or take out a third mortgage.

Welcome, Brian S.

Wilkommen, Still Air! I joined the forum pretty recently, too. I just moved to your part of the world (I'm in Würzburg) 10 days ago from Japan -- haven't even had a chance to unpack my planes yet. I'd like to hook up with you or Wolfman or any other model collectors who live in this area. Anybody else on the forum in the FRA neighborhood?

I've been reading about the great shows recently in LA and Newark. I was wondering if there are any coming up on this side of the Pond?

Tschuss!

Steve
