No idea. If you are in Singapore, I know of 3 model shops in the following malls (as of last April):

- Millenia Walk
- Marina Square
- VivoCity

The Millenia Walk one is outragously priced (I just walked out when he wanted S$120 for an Oasis HK 747), the VivoCity one doesn't have much of a selection. Your best bet is the place in Marina Square. Always ask for a 10% discount. Good luck.

The one in Marina Square is next to the movie theather and the bowling alley.

When they first opened T3 2 years ago there was a store there, but I don't think it's there any more.

How long is your layover? There is a free sightseeing bus for transit passangers. You can take that to the Esplanade and the first 2 stores I listed are within a 5 minute walk from there.

You can do that. Take the MRT to City Hall and walk through the underground mall to Mellenia Walk/Marina Square.

That's not a bad price. No way it will be any cheaper anywhere else in Singapore.

I just checked my Phoenix SIA A380. It does have a logo on the engines. It arrived a week ago from Toy's King Store in Hong Kong. It was $80.99 USD which was the cheapest that I was able to find online.

Now, if I could only find a Phoenix SIA B777-300ER...

BTW That empty spot is for the Phoenix SIA A330-300 on the way. Should be here Wednesday.

Cheers,

Matthew

Yes, shipping was $15 on top of the $80.99.

It is a really nice model though. It is the first Phoenix A380 that I have gotten. All the others are GJ (and one DW). Here is my collection. The only one missing is my Korean Air A380. It is not currently in the display rotation.

Wow, $80 ?! I'm glad I bought mine some times ago ! BTW these engines logo are not that hard to remove using nail polish remover. Be careful if it's acetone based though, it could affect the paint itself !

I saw the Phoenix A380 JAL online and it said "fantasy" model. Is this just someone making a custom plane or is it one that actually exists and flew?

Japan Airlines has not ordered the A380, a reportedly will not do so in the future. (Never say never, right) That is why it is a fantasy model. Not only does it not exist, it will likely not exist in the future either. There are many A380 models that have been out even though relatively few airlines have them flying already. I have an Air France and Lufthansa A380 model, but neither of them actually exist yet. However, they do have the aircraft on order. Therefore they are not "fantasy" models.

Gemini jets make the QANTAS A380's in new and old colour scheme. Phoenix never made a QANTAS A380!

That's not a good advice. Maybe he only has money for one of them. Paper routes don't pay that well.

I would consider that debatable. For example, the GJ British Airways B777-300ER would be a fantasy model under that definition. Once they start flying, would it no longer be a fantasy model then? This would apply for every single B787 and most A380s as well. I draw the distinction between what is planned and will very likely exist (in some form), and what is pure speculation and will very likely never exist. If the plane is on order, then it would not be fantasy, IMO.

Examples of fantasy models:

GJ Aetna B747-400
GJ Exxon B747-400
JAL A380
All of the Boeing 7E7 models
etc.

Cheers

It's still fantasy, in my books. Perhaphs the only exception would be if the manufacturer managed to get the correct livery and registration before the first roll out, at which point, the model could be considered non-fantasy. Look at the Qantas A380 first released, which you wouldn't consider fantasy, even though the plane never flew with that livery.

http://www.diecastaircraftforum.com/...iew-13178.html

Or take the large number of Air France A380s in 1:400. None of them are in the new livery, so most likely the plane will never fly like that.

There's a model shop @ Far East Shopping Centre in Orchard Road, next to Wheelock's Place that sells the Phoenix SQ A380. I can't recall if it comes with the SQ logo on the engines though.

They have other Phoenix SQ models too - I vividly recall seeing an A345 (new livery without the "Leadership" tag - personally I prefer the older livery), B744, B772 and DC10 (but i can't remember if this model is a PH or DW though).
