Question Any model shops in Bangkok or at Suvarnabhumi Airport?

Hi all DACers, I jsut wanted to know if there are any model shops in Bangkok or at Suvarnabhumi Airport? I am interested in buying any scale models not only 1:400 scale.

If there are any shops then I will surely visit them and look for myself if I can find any model that I want...

Please respond if you guys know anything about any shop in Bangkok or at the airport.

Thanks in advance....

There are no model shops at the airport.
Bangkok Airways have Herpa 1/400 available from inflight sales.
There's a very good, though slightly expensive shop in the MBK Centre. 2nd Floor called Toystudio. They also have a second shop in the Central World shopping centre.
Website: ·Í ʵٴÔâÍ since 1995 - Toy Studio, Autoart, Minichamps, Herpa Wings, Gemini Jets, Phoenix Models, Car Model, Airplane Model, Die-cast Model, CMC, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, Yamaha, Ferrari, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Subaru, Lamborghini, Ford, 1:100,

The MBK centre is probably one of the best places to shop for clothes and accessories.
Chatuchak Weekend market is good too, though it does get very busy.
Another area is Pratunam. There are a lot of wholesalers there and if you are buying a few items they do give you a good price.

Ah, Pratunam - good fun place, well, for the wife anyway ! The beauty is you go away thinking you've wrangled the best bargain ever possible in a lifetime whilst the retailer goes laughing to the bank at the same time ! A definite win-win situation if ever there is one
My concern is, we're due back there within the month and the wife still thinks the bargains are there still ripe for picking

Trying to get back on topic, could there possibly be any other retailer in Bangkok other than Toy Studio ? Can't possibly be a monopoly in such a vibrant city ?

I've seen that 1:100 Air Asia A320 and 737-300 on ebay as well. Both models are made by FM.

The model really worth getting is their new 1:200 A330-300 made by RS. They're going to be selling this model on board albeit w/o landing gears and with the standard plastic stand.

There is another shop called "Big Boys Toys" which I have yet to visit.
I recall someone on either this forum or W900, saying that it was not that good.
Website: www.bigboytoys.co.th
Address: 589 Rama 9 Soi 51 Suan Luang, 10250 Suan Luang. Bangkok.

Their website is not very up to date, so don't bank on seeing a model and the site and expect to see it in the shop.
I was in Toystudio last Saturday and they have a "lucky dip" offering a discount between 3%-9%.
They also have a membership card which gives you a 10% discount.
If memory serves me correctly you get the card when you make your first purchase over 5,000 Baht.

Best Regard´s

Opening hours are 10am to 9pm, I'd suggest getting there around 10.30 as the MBK cnetre wont be too busy.
Your best bet is get the skytrain from Nana, change at Siam for the National Stadium. That's the station for MBK.
I don't know the Hotel but I know the road. Soi 3 is a very busy one way road. It's a very Arabic road.
Slightly off topic, I do definately recommend going to a couple of the bars at Nana Plaza on Soi 4. Especially the bar on the left side of the entrance. It's a great vantage point.

Enjoy your trip. I'm going again a few days after you.
Feel free to ask any other questions.
