Default Silly Question: What is "Charlie Bravo"?

I see some GJ's that say "made for Charlie Bravo". What does that mean?

I'm new.....

I am not new here and don´t know who is Charlie Bravo too.

I am curious about it. I suppose I never saw a CB model before.

Probably has something to do with the ABC's of aviation

A = Alpha
B = Bravo
C = Charlie
D = Delta

and so on!

Do they make editions just for Socatec? Are they a retailer or manufacturer?

What is the difference--if any--between a CB GJ and a regular GJ?

The GJs made for Socatec that I have seen are in different box types / shapes that "normal" GJs and (I think) they do NOT have the Gemini Jets logo on the underside of the aircraft (really not sure about that one).

...and Socatec is just the bastard cousin of GJ that charges a hefty premium for models that will be out in the mainstream within a few months.

I believe they have licensing agreement for all France stuff
the prices are above average but still cheaper in the USA

It is in NO WAY associated with Gemini Jets...They are the French company that strangles Gemini with exhorbinant fees to pay for anything to do with Air France...Any Air France model has to go thru them, because they hold the liscensing rights they stick it to Gemini, thus passing those expenses onto the models... Please take back that statement!

Plus they don't always show up as regular GJ releases. (I have yet to see the Air Inter A330 state-side).

Crownvic, I don't get this license business.
You said :

"Any Air France model has to go thru them, because they hold the liscensing rights they stick it to Gemini"

Socatec has negociated with Air France to market AF 320 models
but Socatec do not produce models themselves, they ask Gemini (or whoever) to produce the model with the Socatec label, slapping a surcharge on the way.

So far so good, if i'm wrong correct me

But Air France surely remains free to have models done by other manufacturers (like Hogan with their plastic models). and there are Gemini 400 AF models too (or are these socatec ?, I ain't got any). AF stills owns its image and logo.
I mean if some other manufacturer came to Air France and said well we
want to make an AF A340 die cast model 1:200, would Air France reply: well sorry we gave the license to Socatec so you can't ?(even if Socatec has no plans whatsoever to make that A 340, that's too bad)

Socatec holds the rights to all Air France models planes plane and simple (pardon the pun)....anyone who wants to put out an Air France plane legally will have to go thru Socatec..I would contact them and ask why this is so!

Lots of airlines have similar arrangements with their own outside marketing companies

I thought about changing "cousin" when I wrote it. Didn't mean to insinuate they were in cahoots.

The Phonetic alphabet.

So, Socatec is the only one for Air France huh? Any other companies like this too that have their licensing like Socatec does?

We flew past this Charlie Bravo (CB) over Cuba on the way to Miami. It even flipped us the bird as we went by.

At one time both Pan Am and Braniff licences were held by single licensors.
