Default Jet X RAF Tristar L1011-385-3 C2 ZE705

Here we have a new release due soon from Jet X. I think this one should be popular.

RAF Tristar L1011-385-3 C2 ZE705. Ex Pan Am "Clipper Golden Eagle"

Blue Stripe is Darker Blue on model. Taken with Flash.

I know others would disagree, but I think this one looks OK. I assume that this is the same mould as the BBX TriStar 500, of which I have one of the Pan AM's in my collection & I am happy with & would consider getting again. I wish they would release one of the BAW G-BFC* in delivery colours on this mould.

I don't think it will be as popular as the Gemini Version despite what others say about it I think its one of the better liveries on a Tristar.

I too agree that the GJ RAF Tristar was a good and popular model. I for one, will not be getting this latest unoriginal offering from Junk-X.

..... I don't know, but something just does not look right with this model. It may be the white paint, but is there even an "S" in the S-duct?

The Gemini Version is hard to find and the last one I saw on ebay was about £45.00. It is a nice model but because most of us can't afford this sort of money, I am sure quite a few UK collectors will be very happy with this offering. My estimates on this are that about 75% of what I will get will be sold to UK collectors!

IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN DON'T BUY IT.

If at any time AC wishes to release a better one than this, then please do as I am sure many of us would buy it if it was up to their usual standards.

Believe me, there are many junk models out there that I would not buy regardless of what they released as I am quite picky at times, but for some reason I am OK with this -500 version.

PS. Adrian, can you post a picture of ZD949, (formerly G-BFCB) also please?

No S. It is more like a U. Aviation 400 has come closest to producing the correct transition.

True, but then I don't believe that they have released a -500 model.

What Aviation 400 has done is to pay attention to that which BBx has not done. To try to represent the aft section of an L-1011, regardless of model, as it should be.

How many L-1011s from PanAm are being used with the RAF? How different is this from the Blue Box versions?
