Default phoenix models $+++

why are phoenix models getting increasingly expensive, i know the model is probably a sell out , and comes with great livery but the recent qantas f1 is retailing at around $45 . $7-$8 above other phoenix releases , phoenix have alreqady increased there prices from about $34 -$38 this year.
phoenix now higher priced then all its competition, even aeroclassics , who could demand more $$$$ by being more limited and phoenix supposed to have inferior moulds, so what makes them feel they should be the first model company to break the $40 mark.

i will still be buying one, probably like others because the phoenix is still a cheaper option the the gemini.

Increase in labour and material prices may have something to do with it.....

The costs of all metals are skyrocketing, expect price increases from all manufacturers over the next 12 months.

You just answered your own question. Since you (and I ) will be buying these models at these prices, then Phoenix sees no problem. If there is a market willing to pay...why not sell.

Unicorn shouldn't speak for AeroClassics!

Our prices remain stable. As a matter of fact, with the Aussie Dollar appreciating in value, Aeroclassics are cheaper now, than ever before in the land down under!!

I didn't know that you were immune to the current steep price rises in metals. If so congratulations.

Prices are always pushing upward. The JetX might be the most costly at the moment with Phoenix runnig a close second. With that said I do not think that too many collectors will balk at paying $40.00 for a 747. I have stated it before that my largest sellers are the JetX BAe-146 series at near $40.00 per unit. Considering the size of a BAe-146 to that of a 747 and I think the 146 is way more expensive to buy. Any yet they sell like the proverbial hotcakes.

I don' think that the cost of a model is the sole motivator when a collector decides to buy something anyway. Recent sales of the PM CX777 have proven that. Try to find one now for under $100.00. In addtion to this we do know that price increases by all manufacturers pushed upwards at the first of the year. Beginning January 1 my sales volumes more than doubled over that of last year and as of today the volume is still over double. Yet the price of all products did increase but not by double.

In addition to that which I have stated above. I know what a 1:400 and 1:200 die cast sells for in a Moscow hobby shop. Any 747 quickly sells for more than $40.00 in an economy that might just be less financially affuent than your own. For example an Inflight200 DC-10 that would sell in the US for $150.00 retail would bring $200.00 in a Moscow shop. Would you consider paying $200.00 for an Inflight DC-10 if that was the new MSRP from Inflight?

We are lucky here as the BAe146 is just over $30.00 and I thought the USA was cheaper...... Better for me.

I thought prices have seemed to have stabilised....
GJ in SYD are still fairly cheap and are actually $10-15 cheaper than what they were a few years ago.
AV400 and PHX are still around the AUD45-65 mark which is high but not crazy.

I'm not immune to those factors, however I no longer deal through greedy middlemen, so my prices are based on reality. Late last year our prices (USD) were adjusted (upwards) to compensate for the devaluation of the USD, but that did not affect anyone who purchases AeroClassics using AUD, Euro, GBP, CAD, JPY, RUR, etc. Further USD adjustments may be required, however our basic pricing, which is RMB based, is not expected to change in the near future.

This month's AeroClassics, which I predict you will be buying, will probably be cheaper for you than ever before!

Hi Andrew my little spy tells me that I will want at least two of your May releases.

Sounds good to me.

Phoenix is definitely not the only company who is doing this.

Did you guys look at the prices on the May GJ releases?? $5 - 10 more expensive than before. A380s used to cost $41.95 and 747s no more than $32.95.
