Andrew,

I hope this aircraft will be slated for production in your factory.

Sign me up for anything about PI. I am hoping Demini does a classic PI DC 3 in their 250 range. One of my fav models is my 1/400 AC PI F 27.

This one for the main release, and a smaller number of F-28's with "USAir" titles with the obviously painted out Piedmont logos visible underneath...similar to the JX 767 releases.

How would you make it just barely visible?

Use a light gray pantone color to mimic paint over.

Andrew,

I didn't pay these guys to ask for the PI F-28!

Faze, this is one of my favorite F-28 pictures, with good old Pilot Mountain in the background.

I missed out on the AC F-27 as I was young in the hobby. Haven't been able to find one since. I'm with you on a Gemini DC-3 in 250. And if Herpa does it in 200, I'll buy that too.

The Pilot Mountain picture was part of a slide disc that Terry Morgan, an ex-Braniff pilot and cowriter with his father Len on a number of books had sent me. The rest of the slide disc contains Braniff shots.

Hmmmm.....Pilot Mountain, Mount Pilot, Mount Airy. Now it's coming together; The Andy Griffith Show.

Yeah we defiantly need some more 1:400 scale Piedmonts, I'm surprised that we haven't seen anything from gemini recently like another 737.

By the way piedmontster I can see Pilot MT from my house.

I never knew that was Terry's picutre. I worked with him on the 737-200, he's a good man.

My son has flown the PI DC-3 around that "mountain".

I'm just down the road a little more, it has to be a really clear day for me to see it.

Waiting for an Aeroclassics Piedmont Martin 404 next.

I don't know whether the picture was Terry's or not. But, there are some very unique pics on the disc. When his father Len died, his sister Kathy (former Braniff air hostess) auctioned a number of items on Ebay. She told me that her father wanted to write a book about Braniff but never got far with it. Instead, he made a video disc of himself describing Braniff's history and why the airline used the aircraft that it did. I also won a number of unique business magazines on the airline.

It's pretty awesome that you worked with Terry and other ex-Braniff pilots. I wished I had applied for a job with The-and-Coming Airline, but joined the Air Force instead.

I have all the information on the Carolinas Aviation Museum, Charlotte. I just need to set some time aside to visit and see when the DC-3 is available for flights to the public.

The BN guys were great to fly with, I learned a lot form them. PI was a great company to work for, it hasn't been the same since 1989.

I don't know if they still give rides in the DC-3. I think they may have run in insurance problems. If you do get a chance, take it, you will enjoy it. Take care.

Aeroclassics has produced many PI/US models, so I assume they have the license. If not give me a call Andrew, I'll do what I can to get you one! We can't let this F-28 slip away.

If doing those! Do Empire in Piedmont livery and Empire in its livery as these aircraft had origins there before going to Piedmont.
