Gee, do you think your thread was maybe slightly inappropiate for a forum such as this?

I think he has a hidden agenda which has more to do with politics than 1:400 scale models. Best to just ignore him or have the thread deleted (& further threads).

Freedom, only if you pay for it. Shipping costs extra, of course. Pretty sad if you ask me.
There is a reality about these pretty little planes we buy, which is that few of us would want to live in the country where they are made. So once in a while it does not hurt to reflect upon what it all means. Does this mean I too have an agenda. No, not really. I bought a lot of these models and I am aware where they are from. But it is so easy to ignore the reality that exists. And one need not know all the facts to know that human rights are not optional. Last year the issue was consumer protection rights with toys and lead paint. It caused a bigger stir than monks getting clubbed, beaten or shot. So we care more about the planes than the people. What then does that make us. And remember, when I paid for the planes I bought the right to voice my opinion. |

I'm not sure, when I watch tvn24, it gets a lot of attention, at least in Poland it does. I'm somewhat suprised that the US channels are not covering it too well. The most they did was cover Pelosie's(sp?) trip over there followed by Bejing's "STFU" message to her. Of course, I hear that because of the current situation, it is hard for many reporters to get in there. So it probebly isn't too much of a suprise either.

JB said that a political discussion has not place on a die cast model hobby forum. There is a thread concerning this located at the 400 SH forum found in the "off topic" area. You might discuss it there. To roughtly quote Andrew K, "This is an interesting topic..."

Ok What Did I Miss?
I Side With The Tibetans. If We Boycott Models, It Won't Change A Darn Thing. Might as Well Continue Buying Them. |

AND BTW IS "DALA LAMA" , not "DALIA LAMA" YOU CAN'T EVEN SPELL IT RIGHT TO THE PEOPLE YOU HAVE UTMOST RESPECT I am not taking sides here but I just want to point out the one side accusation / deception from the western media is clearly flaming me up. The long history of the problem between tibet and the chinese communism is something that by saying "FREE TIBET" can be concluded, did people actually see the picture behind it beside listening to your local media that seems to be so hateful against the chinese regime, and those so called "freedom" countries, are they that perfect ? I guess many wouldn't have known that there were 5 young ladies that have been burnt alive by the people who involved in the riot I guess you guys didn't know that the many monks did actually robbing, trashing, burning other people's property and stuff all that.. I guess you guys haven't seen the pictures that a few Tibetans used knives to slashed one single man alive on the street.. Why didn't you guys say anything when the riots in French Suburban and accused against the France government that the way they dealt with? Why no one say "FREE IRAQ " when they were invaded illegitimately by United States? And of all of you here keep saying "FREE TIBET" , how many of you have actually try to learn the big picture such as the history of it beside listening to those propagandist ? From those comments I have listened to lately in the other forums, I am so happy that my education has taught me that I ought to think independently rather than like other people just following the crowd ! You are right! My apologize! His holiness the Dalai Lama.
edchiang I can assure you that my opinion does not come from any western media. My respect for The Dalai lama comes from reading his books for over a decade and his ability to help people cultivate themselves into sentient beings without trying to change people’s religious values. I am here in India and listen to him speak yesterday. After everything that has happened to his country and people he still tells people to harbor compassion towards china. In my eyes that is pretty big. Once again this is the right place to talk about this due to were the product, we discuss is manufactured. You Chinese are angry because in the end good will win. It always does. It is not too late for china to be good. It would even boost china. That is were the Chinese are dumb in thinking the west wants china to make a deal with the Dalai Lama. |

Well. the way you link diecast aircraft to politics, and from the way you've written and understand things has proven you how immature you are.
So one last question, what do you think of the people dead in the riot and the monks who came out and robbed, the people who were killed and burn alive in the riot? what do you think the government should have done instead since you have been talking about compassion. I am angry because no one when saying free tibet did actually point the rifle to the people who was involved in the riot, the double standard that the western media was gripping and the unbiasedness of reporting.. Seriously, I don't care if China wants to talk yo Dalai Lama, I just want to point out the the western media was treating the whole situation unfairly. Well, talking about personal insult, I felt sorry for you if you are a grown up cos the things you said and the way you understand things doesn't sound like one. I cant get my head round peaceful, calm, Buddhist Monks killing and a robbing and a raping and a pillaging. It doesnt seem to be what their religion suggests.
So I take it you are just back from Lhasa then?
