Default Airbus Aeroclassics Wheels

HI,
I am having a little problem getting AC A300 nose wheels as a replacement for the ones that fell off and were lost. My retailer has been very nice about it, except that he is very busy and they have not shown up yet. I am getting a bit impatient as I had to go all the way to England to get my TAA A300 and it has been without wheels since more than a month now...( need the axle too)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Good Luck!

Aeroclassics has no parts department or customer service, unlike Gemini Jets that has great service and parts get sent right away. Your retailer is suppose to resolve that but unfortunately they never do. I have been trying to get broken tire gears for months. I just got a KLM B747 with broken front gear I have been promised the gear, its now 3 weeks and I still to recieve one. The other is the Bavaria Bac11, the back tire gears were both missing, i called my retailer and still no show, this one was like 6 weeks ago. I am just giving up. Aeroclassics never address this issue, evertime I post on 400 Hanger it get censored. I would suggest you return the item for credit, I am.

I've got the same problem with a nose gear, contacted my retailer and he said he'd look around. Sounds like we're in the same boat. I have some models coming from him this week, so I'll see want's in the box.

ITS JUST VERY FRUSTRATING BECAUSE NOTHING GETS DONE BY ANYONE. AND TO TRY TO GET ANOHTER MODEL IS ALMOST OUT OF THE QUESTIONS BECAUSE OF THE SMALL PRODUCTION THERE ARE NO EXTRA MODELS TO REPLACE IT WITH.

For the record, all authorised AeroClassics dealers were sent spare parts for all aircraft types produced in the new factory.
More than that, is something I doubt anyone else could do!

Actually there is more than anyone else could do. One could point one in the right direction of a US retailer that actually has parts and is really good about sending them out. I am even willing to pay for the parts and the shipping. I already canibalized one A300 to repair the one on display.

The owner of Collectable Jets has been very friendly in all communications about the parts but the parts simply never show up. So he is either really busy or he too is waiting for parts he does not have. Either way I am left with an aircraft that I cannot bear to look at because it had wheels for a grand total of one hour.

I am holding off on all new purchases until this issue is solved.
Help me please.

I keep reading about all these lost tires on the A300's. I have nearly every one released and haven't had a problem like this. What do you guys do to your models? How many hard landings do they go through?

I glue them right away. No hard landings at all!
The rolling tyres don't add anything to these models IMO...

Am glad they all have parts but I have still to receive one. There needs to be a central place to get them. I dont mind paying for it. I think leaving it up to the retailers is not working.

Spare parts are irrelevant if the model was manufacturered properly in the first place.
Gee, that might even result in a saving in production costs for something which is untimately not needed therefore could be turned into profits or offered as an attractive reduction in model prices therefore incentivising the collector to buy more.

Footnote:
I like how DW actually provide spare wheels, props, u/c doors etc. within little baggies in the box with the model. Hint!!
Alternatively they could throw in a tube of superg lue.

That's actually an excellent idea. If the gear was bagged separately for the collectors to glue in (it's not rocket science), Andrew would be spared the added production labour, headaches of hearing about broken gear and having to supply spares. The collectors would have an option of inflight or on ground and won't have anything to complain about. It's a win-win situation.
Andrew, why not try this on one release and see the feedback?

Not sure about the A300's but the new DC-10's now have the nose gear packed in a bag.....

......only problem now, there will be people complaining about that

I know what you mean, it is human nature to complain, the neighbor's grass is always greener type of thing. Most of us in this hobby started building these things a long time ago so we shouldn't be hearing any complaints about gluing these things in.

I think the least costly and most effective answer is to include bag of replacement parts with the model. This would eliminate customer frustration, save the retailers time and cost of shipping, and give a collector an inventory of spare parts that they could use to fix other models that they might have with simular problems should they not need the parts for the one that originally had the parts shipped with it.

Would your next step to contact AeroClassics directly and by pass the retailer?

Am afraid they dont have a customer service department, much less a parts department. I say we nominate Faheem as the customer service rep and parts manager! Woohoo! Just kidding Faheem. BUT....................is there any way you can talk to Mr. AK about this matter. It really is a problem.

You could summonds him by beginning a thread that sang the praises of Blue Box. Because you know that he will respond to that. Then, when you had his attention, ask him to send you some wheels. It is all that simple!
