Aeroclasssics has finally got the colour (and shape - almost) of the coroguard "spot on". Excellent!!!
And all those of us who were bitching about the lack of overwing emergency walkway markings on last month's releases - notice they are present on this month's releases (where appropriate), and they look pretty damned accurate!
Fantastic work Andrew. Thank goodness there are manufacturers out there who DO listen to constructive criticism and make changes.
I am a bit curious as to why not all of the 707s have the auxiliary intake doors marked on the engine by-pass cowlings?
Gavin
Thanks Gavin!
Those NWA 707 had different engine intakes acoording to all photos, so the detail was left off.

Fanny, according to the angle of the photo, the 747 wing corrogard looks darker than it actually is.
I assure you that the wings are the correct color!

The Black Corogaurd Was Fixed Ever Since The Alitalia & SAS Releases Early This Year.
It Compares Very Close To The Corrogaurd Of A DW 747, But Laterally It's A Tad Darker Than DW But Not As Dark As The Picture Shows. Zareh Can't Take Very Good Photos.

I must agree, the coroguard on AeroClassics' 747s still appears a shade too dark. It is not the "black" coroguard of several months ago (it has been lightened up) but it still has too much contrast against the surrounding "Boeing Grey" painted wing surfaces.

Any chance it could be lightened up a bit more Andrew?

Back to my all-time favorite plane, the 707 - there is still one more (subtle) correction to be included on the AC 707s before they are perfectly accurate. The trailing edge of the coroguard surface has not one but two "kinks" -

1. Outboard of the spoilers (obvious)
2. Inboard of the inner engine (not so obvious and forgiveable if missed)

Dragon Wings (bless their plastic hearts) got it right (colour and shape) on their less-than-perfect 707 so it would be great to have it "spot-on" on the best 707 mould on the market. See photo of DW version below.

Gavin

[EDIT] PS - it should be this colour on all Boeing coroguard-painted aircraft, including the 747.

[SECOND EDIT] Okay, I only just read Andrew's and Rick's above replies now (after already posting this). Perhaps it's just the photo angles that make the 747s inspars look darker.

As Andrew said, NW had what many call "early style" blow in doors. Contrary to those more common and by AC correctly done "later style" doors, the "early" ones were smaller and sit further back on the cowling. As they were unpainted metal, they were almost invissible when closed. The later ones often were grey/white-metal and so were clearly vissible.
According to some info the "early" ones went along with MTOW restrictions as opposed to airframes equipped with the later ones - while engines were the same on both (JT3D-3B) - if the load restricitons story is true, I don't know.
Fact is, that there were even 707C delivered with the "early" style cowlings long after the later style doors appeared...
Here's video showing the early style doors at work on an ex NW 720-051B:

Is it just the pictures or are these 707 nose gear doors somewhat oversized?
And the 351B should have the early style sliding doors.

Andrew,
I am really thrilled to see the F-28, so please let me be the first to campain for a Braathens SAFE Fellowship.
LN-SUC 'Olav Kyrre', the first F-28 delivered to BU in 1969, and was with BU until 1986. I really think this one is worthy

I would second that! Braathens was the first operational F28 I saw in service, when I visited Trondheim, Norway in 1974.

I agree with the overall praise for the new F28 mould. Most welcome and I'm looking forward to many more of these. But I'm surprised there has been no comment about the colour of the in-spar panels inbetween the wing walk marks. As far as I am aware, the standard Fokker finish was light grey all over and not dark in between, as per these first releases. Following recent discussion over the right or wrong shade of the Boeing corroguard, how come everyone has missed this?

Take a look here http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1271880/M/

Do all AC F28 have two cargo doors for the forward hold? Cause only the longer F28 had this, not the short ones. Maybe a heads up for future releases?
