Default Connies!

Took a while, but I finally found a setting for these guys. I don't know if the TWA ever visited LGA but it I guess it could have.

FYI, TWA's Connies did serve LGA, especially L 749s in that cs. Some of the last runs were puddle-jumpers that flew from LGA and PHL to PIT and then down the Ohio Valley to STL. The very last Connie run came through my home of SDF! Great pics, as always!!!

I was aware of that but since this is the only concourse I am building, this is the only one I can use. The diorama was built as a background for all the models I have that operated through LGA.

That 749 plane looks cool - is it still available, or was it one of those special orders for a particular supplier (that's the down side of my not visiting this site as often as I used to, turned off by the name-calling, support for ultra-right politics and the loss of some talented posters) ?

Thanks for the great images. I read that the 049s were the first short Connies to retire after the 1049 Super Connies at the end of 1961. The 749s stayed on until the the spring of 1967. Growing up near LGA during this time allowed me to see a few props although the jets were closing in. Great times!
