Peewee may travel to Bangkok and beyond at the end of January. I say beyond because I do not know if I am going to remain in Bangkok or travel on to a resort or someplace like Phuket. Anyone have any ideas for me?

It's the state capital for Sabah, East Malaysia. On the island of Borneo. I have a friend who works in Canada (not sure if he's in Toronto or not) in the oil and gas industry. He flies Air Canada to Taipei and then MH from Taipei to Kota Kinabalu. The MH flight is available daily. Hope this helps.

Depends on your interest. If you enjoy old buildings, temples, palaces you might as well stay in BKK. Pattaya has the best "show" (ahem). Most people go to BKK for massages but shopping for model planes is probably a no. As I know only 1 place like that available. Found another website some times ago about a shop call "Tom & Jerry" but no reply after a few e-mails to them. Also, plenty of fakes tees, bags etc. Another island worth considering is Koh Samui as I heard it's less crowded.

FYI, Air Asia flies from BKK to BKI 3 times per week. If flying domestically within Thailand can consider Nok Air.

Hope this helps.

Do you know what aircraft does MH use for the BKI-TPE route? Is it the A330? I believe I have seen pics of the MH A332 & A333 on airliners.net but not sure if it's used for that sector.

I'd Be Interested in All Of The Above. The Scenery, Temples & The Show.
I'm Sure Nok Air Has Low Cost Fares To BKI, Right? Tell You What, It's Been YEARS Since I Has Malaysian Food. There Was A Restaurant Here In Toronto That Closed Down 15 Years Ago. It Was Called The New Malacca Restaurant. Can't Remember The Name Of The Dish, But My Fave Was A Rice/Noodle Dish With A Kind Of Sweet Dark Curry Of Sorts.
Wish They Were Still Around, My Favorite Food. Thier Peanut Sauce For The Satay Was Amazing, Too. You Could Taste The Coconut, Garlic, Ginger, Lemongrass & Tumeric, Very Fresh & Spicy, Yum.

Yeah. Imagine the cramp space.

Flew to Shanghai from Brunei a couple of months back on A319 and was surprisingly comfy. Seats look thinner than those on MH B734 but was spacious. Plus inflight videos. We don't have those on a 3hrs flight from BKI to HKG.

Yeah, but now it's a season for roast turkey and whole lamb leg which I think they don't serve.

Airbus makes good planes, the A318 to A321 all look small compared to other planes but very stable in air.........

Yeah, I realized that too but I thought it was a "minor" problem with the air conditioning. The air stewardess also spray some sort of mist from a container before we took off.
