Netmodels' DC-9 is the worst mold in all of 1/400 currently. Despite Midway DC-9 being very high on my want-list, I'll pass without a second thought. Netmodels has already made my most-wanted DC-9, the very first plane I ever flew on, and I passed, because the mold (and their attempt at replicating the paitn scheme) was so bad.

OMG!!
Midway, my Midway!!!
Long overdue! About friggin' time!

Tempting, so very tempting.

But wait, there were technically two different versions of the last colours (ok, I know that technically isn't possible.)
But would these be the white version or the bare-metal experiment?

No matter, really, since if they look good enough, I'll snap them up. But I agree with one of the other posters, Netmodels has a lot to work to do, not just on the gear, and even though these to would reduce my wish list by 5%, I will pass if they don't pass muster.

But thanks for the heads up!

I could be wrong, but werent the bare metal Midways just hastily painted ex-Eastern birds?

The Eastern birds that we got (-30's) when the PHL hub opened were painted in the full white top red letter billboard livery. The bare metal came in about 1990 or later. Ran these down the AR routes with only NDB nav.

The only DC-9's to wear the bare-metal were ex Eastern's: N8929E, N8956E, N8950E, and so-on. Midway picked them up in spring/summer 1991 after Eastern folded
