I don't quite get it, why all this boohaha over Braniff?? To date I've seen Braniff A380's, these Tristars and some liveries and other a/c I'm not even sure they ever had.

Are they short of airlines or is this just something to pass the time?

I think a fantasy livery should be possible, once in a while. But this is more than I can have. Absolutely pass!
Limited 80 for Jet-X Club members? Seems a wise decision to me.

Hmmm, one of these nice birds would compliment my Braniff Concorde quite well.
@ TWALover, how do you know that these are BBX and not the Dragon Mould? I recall that JetX tends to use the DW moulds more often than the others.

For god sake.....Give us a freakin' break on this Braniff fantasy crap already! There are so many other good schemes that are reality that could be placed on that mould.

It is BlueBox....

The Dragon Mould doesn't have a tail seam. Although if BBX fixed that tail seam, it would be a contender!

This is an extremely limited release for an extremely small niche of collectors who asked for it and it was delivered by someone who happens to like Braniff. What's the problem? If it's not for you... walk on.

I think it may be the same affliction that has certain members constantly whining "No PIA this month?!? "

The BN L10's don't tickle my testes, either, but I don't whine about it. Glad to see the BN contingent happy.

Ok so the Fantasy Braniff Jellybean crowd is placated for a while....
whatever.....not my cup O tea.
I never was much into "fantasy Liveries".

However I do have a 1/400 model of the Boeing 2707 SST that needs
to be done up in United (Saul Bass).

I think this would make a hell of a diecast model if some smart maker would just
pick up the idea. If your gonna do "fantasy" then DO IT!

Continental (Black Meatball)
Cathay Pacific
Delta
JAL
TWA (star stream)
United (Mainliner, Friendship and Saul Bass)
Pan Am
YES do a Braniff Jellybean Set too

The problem is that this is another case of 'neener neener...we have something cool and you dont'. Unfortunately this is way too prevalent in this hobby and really does (once again) smack of elitism. Thank God there are other, smarter people than that who keep this hobby going.

If you think those who dig the Braniff fantasy models are an 'extremely niche' group then you are quite wrong. But that is ok, you have your colorful collection and others dont so you should be quite happy about that.

I do, and I am. Besides, some may soon be available on ebay.... You didn't get any to sell on ebay?

It's not elitism. It has more to do with demand within a Club. A Club meaning not the General Public. So GJ and Herpa are elitist with their Clubs?

You're smarter than that. Herpa and Gemini advertise their club and also let people know ahead of time (via advertising and their websites) what model is going to be available and an approximate ETA. Only the special few that knew the secret handshake knew about the BN L1011s.

Really? We post on our forum (a website last time I checked) in advance, and anyone that emailed us was able to get it (along with every other club model). And we're not charging a membership fee either, nor have we the past year.

No secret handshake at all, no extra charges, no extra cost.

Anyone that didn't inquire to purchase, well, can't excuse laziness...
