Fantastic shots Rick!
I agree that this is one of the best liveries around that are almost gone. I do have the AW 732 OC and love it.

Excellent photography, but what bizarre pictures... They never had six 747s, so why put that many models together in a diarama?

Rick,
Your pictures are outstanding. In addition to what Andy mentioned about the 747s, do you use photo magic to create additional planes in your diorama shots?

Nice, but as a real perfectionist you should have bent and extended the flaps for the "inflight" shots...

Extremely Poor Volumes On The Nagano Route (Only 1 Pax Once) & The Lack Of Rights To Sydney Relegated The 747s To The Bird Of Paradise (Hawaii) & New York Routes, But Proved To Be Unprofitable. I Actually Saw 2 Pics Of N535AW But Are No Longer Online. Never Saw Pics Of N536 AW But Yes, It Was In The Fleet. Last edited by L-1011-Heavy; 12-02-2006 at 11:19 PM. |

! As It Were, It's Already 1-2 Hours Per Photo. Probaly 2-4 Hrs Per Photo If I Were To Set Control Surfaces. Pay Me & I'll Be GLAD To Make Them Perfect. As It Stands, Very few Flying Pics Of 400 Scle Models Are As Convincing As This. |

I notice that you have 531 and 532, and I think I see 534. Are the others all different? I know they didn't sell the same livery in different tail #s, did you alter them yourself?

I went to www.airfleets.net and found the following:
Four 747-206Bs were in America West's fleet at one time or another. 1) N531AW delivery/disposal dates: 09/01/89 - 10/25/89. From original operator KLM as PH-BUA (Delivered 12/13/70). Status: Scrapped. 2) N532AW delivery/disposal dates: 11/06/89 - 10/14/91. From original operator KLM as PH-BUB (Delivered 02/15/71). Status: Scrapped. 3) N533AW delivery/disposal dates: 10/26/89 - 01/14/92. From original operator KLM as PH-BUC (Delivered 05/09/71). Status: Scrapped. 4) N534AW delivery/disposal dates: 07/16/90 - 05/02/92. From original operator KLM as PH-BUD (Delivered 08/06/71). Redelivered from Garuda on 07/13/92. To TWA 03/31/94. Status: Scrapped. Please advise more information if you have other data.

Well I Wouldn't Have Wasted Money On Six If I Only Needed To Buy 4.
Before I Bought These, I Saw 2 Pics On Airliners Dot Net, One You Could Actually READ The Reg# N535AW. Unfortunately, Those Pics Are No Longer There As Many Pics I Once Saved On My Computer Before The Great Crash Are No Longer Available Any Nore Either. I Have No Further Info, Except AW Ordered 2 747-4G7 But Never Took Delivery. Airfleets Has Been Known Not To Be 100% Accurate, But Then I Haven't Either. We Are Flawed As Our Models! |

JP Fleets nor AeroTransport which I consider both highly reliable (I've only found one flaw in thousands of research searches on AeroTransport) and both only show four 747-200s all ex-KLM nor does it show for an order of two 747-400s.

Is it Navajo or Navaho? When I have been through the Nation just south of Lake Powell it was Navajo.

I lived down there during that time and was an avid photographer and yank spotter. HP only had 4 747s. If N535AW and N536AW did exist they never graced the tarmac at PHX.
That being said, how 'bout throwin' some love my way Rick. I REALLY could use at least one of those! ![]() |
