I know about the disclaimer, however, does the tail cone, and rudder placement look a tad off to anyone else? I'll still take one.

Tailcone Is Off As Is The Rudder, But I LOVE How Clean The Quarterjack Is Comparing To Gemini's. I'm Getting This One. I'm A Landor Lover. Fukk The New (Union Jack,Nelson Or Whatever) Colors & World Tails!
This Aside Poeple Were Saying The Herpa Air france Was Better Than Gemini's. I'll Disagree. |

One small issue, Herpa's site shows this as 1/500 not 1/400 I hope this isn't the case as this release is nicer than the Gemini Jets offering. And while were at it...where's the "Speedbird" version?

Might consider getting this one, if it is better than GJs (love landor too).
Whish it could be done with nose down, much more common on ground... |

THe model referred to is the new 1:400 scale Landor G-BOAE - ideal for fleet builders - this is not the 1:500 model. |

Doesn't GJ own the only rights to BA livery in 1/400?

Apparently Not. Herpa Has Rights In Other Scales & Probably Have Enough Clout For BA To Make The Exception. I Hear ARD Has The Licence Too Or Inflight 400 Because They Are "Bloody Well British, Why Does An American Company Have The Rights To British Airways & Not A British Company" Looks Like At Least 2 Exceptions. |

If I ran an airline, I would allow multiple manufacturers to produce aircraft in various scales. Simple rules: Sign the dotted line and follow the general guidelines.
If I held the rights to the name and logo of an airline that no longer existed, I would do the same thing. Dave, I'll be sending you a pm in the next week or so for another order.

Used to be so, but isn't any longer..
Herpa has done the Union Flag before, and the recent Aeroclassics VC-10's were all licensed by BA as well. And I heard something about a Jet-X British Airways BAe-146 as well, which I suspect will be licensed too. |

I do want that Herpa BA concorde then, it's supposed top be the nicest one out there yet.
In the Plastic Model world there is usually more that one model maker with a license, such as one may make resin kits, the other has vinyl kits and a third may have injection moulded kits....all can have a license to produce the same subject. Hasegawa has it for a 1/200 DC-10, Revell-Germany has it for 1/144 DC-10, and Doyusha has it for 1/100 DC-10. If the company allows it, more than one maker can have a license to produce their product. What usually happens in the diecast world is one maker has the license and another comes along and doesn't want to pay for a license and goes ahead making "white box" or "green box" or whatever color box releases with no manufacturer markings, makes a small run of say 200-500 then bangs them onto the market to make their money.
