Ah, a simple corporate identity livery. The flowery, over-graphiced, pictures all over the fuselage and psychedelic liveries do get to be tiresome. Back to the liveries that distinctly identify an airliner as belonging to a specific airline. This is the definite American Airlines livery and fortunate is that AA has decided that apart from the "retro" livery they have stayed with an identity in their livery.
.....I like it. Not just AA, but every airline that sticks to one livery. The vast majority of us at smaller airports never see all the fantastic liveries.

Model looks simple yet elegant and I like the finish on the fuselage. Does this model come with metal or plastic wings?

I was under the impression that this model would just be painted silver and not actually be polished metal. Since that's obviously not the case, I might have to reconsider passing up this model.

The cockpit design itself is nicely done, just printed a little too high on this special model. Agree with you on the wing tilt.

??? "1990s" colors, "2000s" colors, call it what you like. Since AA didn't change their colors for quite sometime now , we simply needed a decade to name their livery in the database.

Try "1970s colors". The scheme is essentially unchanged from its first introduction...the only mods to it are the gray tails and the removal of the airplane name (ie, 757 Luxury Jet) from the nose. Now THAT'S corporate identity.

The wings look accurate...when the plane is in flight, that is. Fuse. finish is awesome, rear mains could use a little mod.

How about just calling these colors "current".

That should cover it.
