Default Sell out alert...Qantas 737

Sell out alert! I was taken by surprise yet should have expected it. My stock of the Yananyi sold out within a day. I called the North American Herpa distributor expecting to restock. Big surprise, they are sold out! What interested me is that these have listed for as much as $44.00 in stores in Germany, the home of Herpa. I had sold my inventory of same for $44.00 as well. And some of you complain about the price of an AeroClassics!

I did place a back order although I was told by the distributor that if they did receive a restock from Herpa that it would not arrive until the end of the year. Herpa, as you know, is not opposed to releasing a model up to 5 times over a period of time. The purpose of my thead is to advise you that if you hope to land the new Herpa Qantas that you should source one now before they completely disappear or the price rockets to beyond the current $44.00.

My stock is in transit and will arrive mid next week. I have four to sell at $39.99 each. I know it's not the "Trader Forum" but since the thread was started, I want you to know that I do have them...but not for long!

The reason that I posted the alert was to first to advise collectors but also so see if someone would come forward, as you did, to advise where a collector could obtain one for his collection. The beauty of the form is that this useful activity can happen.

Hey Peewee!,

The forums can definitely be used for great things! After all...we all started as collectors!

i pre-ordered my herpa from my local hobbies shop here in edinburgh, i used to collect herpa 1.500s but left herpa when i moved to 1.400 , this will now be the only herpa i have 400 or 500, dont usually like to mix it up but liked the livery and got it since it is only released by herpa. maybe it will be the start of a few herpa 400s to come if they get some good liverys

It's not often that I will bring in Herpa 1:400's due to what I consider their high price. However I did order the Ynani. From my initial order quantities I also only now have 2 available when my shipment arrives. My shipment should be here Friday or Monday. they should also be around $44.00 US.

There is restock coming to the US distributor but the restock is sold out. Thankfully a few of them are coming to me but there are already buyers for every one of them.

Are you and I using the same US distributor? If so then I do have some on back order but I was told the restock would be after Christmas time. Who knows. All I know is that I wanted to give the good lads here a heads up so that they would not be caught later with their proverbial pants down.

In one door and out the other! At 1,000 units and to sell out that quick. Faster than the AC BA VC-10 at only 600 units? I wonder. Herpa does need to crank out another batch of these.

Surprised it went THAT quick... Glad I put my order in at JetObsession

My Qantas fleet would be so inadequate without that one in it.

Is it really that good in quality such as metal wings and stabilizers. What about the engines? Herpa has see thu plastic on their planes like cheap toys.

I preordered my Yananyi model a while ago now, and when I saw Dragon wings were releasing a Qantas A330-300 I rang my retailer and preordered that model too.
When I saw that Yananyi was already close to sell out , I rang my retailer again and ordered another.( models still aren't expected in his shop for a few weeks yet). So hopefully I'll get two Yananyi's, One for myself and one I'll probably sell on ebay in a little while.

This feeding frenzy is nut...truly NUT!!!
Can anyone here tell me or give me an example of a truly rare model?? I am sure there are, at least for NOW. However, with the current trend in this hobby, different mfrs. making the SAME models or going to release the same models, alot are rare ones. Therefore, who is to say or guarantee that this is IT, that is only Herpa made it and NO one else will.... but hey, it's your hard earned dough ($$$), spend it as you please.... oh and good, definitely good for the retail guys here ......

What unit number is considered "rare". Only 1 made? Only 10 made? Only 50 made? To be sure there are a number of models that will not number more than 50 made. I have 5 or 6 JAL 747 that only 6 were made. I have 6 Pan Am 747 that only 6 were made. I'd say those are pretty rare models. There have been many releases that numbered less than 96 models released world wide. The AC Aer Lingus 767 St Ibar, the recent AC BA VC-10 "R" registration. Those just came from the to of my head but there is more.
