Default New Livery of SQ747F & CA737 Olympic

New Livery of SQ747F & CA737 Olympic. I think Air China should paint another special livery on B747-400 instead of small aircraft 737 to promote the Olympic 2008 hosted in Beijing to the world .

That would make more sense seeing how a 747 visits more places.

I think the SIA is just a hybrid of something or another.

That's not a new livery for SQ Cargo. Great Wall Airlines, which SQC has a 25% onwnership, had leased the aircraft from SQC and it has been returned to service with SQC, therefore partial Great Wall Airlines colors still appear on the aircraft.

I think they are too busy trying to make money on different limited edition gold and silver products like coins and stuff! I was in China back in early October and man, all these gold and silver coins in so-called limited editions and people just scooping them up like there is no tomorrow because they recon it's either all pre-sold or sold out. But yes, everyone who hosted an Olypics always have at least one 747 painted. But I tell you what, all the airlines there are shocking! None of them are on-time and everytime, right at the last minute, several flights will get consolidated into one airline despite several airlines flying the same route. So you always either have 10 min to get to a flight or have to wait hours because your flight's been cancelled. To be honest, I am not sure how they will cope with the Olympics. Also I have heard that the taxi drivers in Beijing doesn't speak a word of English despite they run English schools for their cab drivers.

Here's an article in the Airport Press (www.airportpress.us), Sept. 06 Edition Vol.28 No.9
"CARGO JOINT VENTURE HIT BY SANCTIONS"
Singapore Airlines, whose new Chinese air cargo joint venture was unexpectedly hit by the US trade sanctions last week, said on Monday that it is working towards resolving the issue quickly.
GREAT WALL AIRLINES, in which Singapore Air and state-owned Temasek Holdings own 49%, over the weekend suspended all its flights after the US Office of Foreign Assets Control imposed sanctions on the parent company, CHINA GREAT WALL INDUSTRY CORPORATION.
A spokeman for Temasek, which owns 57% of Singapore Air, said it had been briefed on the situation.
GREAT WALL AIRLINES flies between Shanghai and Amsterdam, via Seoul and between Shanghai and Chennai, via Mumbai.

D-AIHC,
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe you're from NYC too right? If you are, you definitely should get your hands on this "Airport Press", which I accidentally stumbled across when I was at that medical center in JFK.
Excellent newspaper!! Very informative. Give it a try.

Thanks for the article! Very interesting newspaper. Here are a couple more regarding the sanctions by the Dept. of Treasury:

Treasury Sanctions Singaporean-Chinese Cargo Airline Company

ATW: US sanctions Great Wall parent for Iran support; carrier suspends operations

I don't know if Great Wall has resolved the accusations by the feds and it has been almost 3 months since. My guess is they have not and that's why this aircraft is back in service with SQC. BTW, what were you doing at the medical center in JFK? Hopefully nothing serious!
