So does DL really have two different shades of blue on their aircraft?

Why not the Retro / Anniversary livery as opposed to the same one that Dragon came out with years ago ?

Oh come on---its even the exact same variant of the scheme that DW did---immediately post-Olympic, 1997 or so. You could have at least done the superior "as delivered" version of the Spirit of Delta, how most people know that plane before it wore the Olympic scheme. 80's widget is better than 90's widget. Though this does match the too-high-cockpit Widget 757 that came out recently. (Which I also would have preferred in the delivery scheme)

Secondly---I recall quite a few posts when DW did this asking for a NORMAL widget. So why'd you do exactly what we didn't ask for? Almost everyone who bought the DW one still wants a NORMAL Widget 762 and would buy a GJ of it in an instant, but nobody's going to pick up the exact same plane in the exact same variation of the livery---especially when it appears to have the multiple shades of blue that the DW has.

Now, historically GJ has by far the best DL dark blue of anybody----but this one certainly photographs differently. And I am not going to buy a "direct lighting" excuse at the moment, as I have taken VERY bright lights and held them 1/2 inch away to every GJ DL widget plane I own and none look like that, neither in hue nor gradiation. (It should come as no suprise that I evaluated the exact shade of blue on all my DL planes-the MD-11's is notably purple)

With all of of the different schemes that N102DA has displayed in some 23 or so years....now this would have been a candidate for a multipack! I wonder if Delta will ever send her to the desert...or at least wait until the employees who contributed to her purchase are long retired? I had the opportunity to see this one firsthand at JAX in the 75th Anniversary colors this past summer, but couldn't photograph it because in true fashion I was racing last minute to catch my flight on a very early Monday morning.

Hear Hear!! I Agree 100 %!!!

I Bought The DW As Well. It's A Great Model. The GJ Mould Is Not Bad, But DW Is Still Superior. I Will Not Buy This One.
If It Were The Delivery, Or A Regular Widget, Then Yes, It Definitely Would Grace My Vast Widget Collection.

I definitely aggree with a multipack. What has N102DA seen 3 color schemes...widget, deltaflot and now the most recent?

A multipack with the correct colors and widget and the Olympic scheme would be nice.

If I am not mistaken, I believe the delivery Spirit of Delta was in gold script in the fuselage.

I do not think this aircraft daw the 1997 livery but a reg. that saw would be nice.

That would all make a nice multipack.

Bring it on!

It didn't wear the 1997 livery but it was repainted that year (or thereabouts) into a modified version of how it was delivered. There's a half-dozen little differences or so between delivery and the 1997 repaint, the most obvious to most people being the red script instead of gold. It's got all the standard 80's vs 90's Widget differences. (The MD-11 and L-1011 Widget scheme variations do not conform to 80's/90's classification, but nearly every other plane in the DL fleet does)

N110DL was the only 762 to wear the interim livery I think.

Default Nice but...

Hi everybody:
Very nice looking model, but I would have prefered even more to see good old "ship 102" in the 75th ann. colors or in the "Wavy gravy" livery. There was another variation on "102" back in 1982 with big 767 in the tail instead of the widget. I think it flew for a very short time on promotional tours. But it is also a welcome addition in the 1/400 community.
Cheers!
Carlos

David:
Did you get the DL A310 'Widget?' I thought the cheatline colors on that were off as well. The blue is different (lighter) than from what's on the tail; same as this model.

Whenever there’s a cheatline involved there also exists the possibility of the cockpit sitting too high. This one looks like it could be sitting too high but I’ll wait until side shots are available.

A couple of MD-11's had the " too lazy to paint the stripe to the tailcone livery."
812 Widget after the Olympic livery and 891, 892 (Mitsui planes).

Kudos to Gemini for printing the APU inlet door and Directv antenna. (Yes, the "Spirit" showed Olympic events live during the 1996 games)

IKONOS---I haven't bought any A310's, I find every manufacturer's mold to be poor.
