Default "A Tale of Two Virgins"....

Why purchased unlicensed "junk" when you can purchased licensed models with accurate colors....

Whenever you fly on Virgin Airlines I think it's an in-flight model if I'm not mistaken, however, they will show up on eBay and maybe a limited amount to some retailers, those usually are hit and miss if they are in-flight....

O.K.....

Did GJ ever announce they were making this model?

If so, when?

It would chap me to no end to find out the streets are filled with crap when a reputable manufacturer has a model in the works and doesn't say anything about a possible future release.

I hope that's not the case here.

I don't really know if licensing has anything to do with it. BB has produced some awesome unlicensed stuff, haven't they? This is just crap. I wasn't even considering this , but if I can get the Gemini I'm sure I could room on my shelf for the birthday .

We've been talking about this model for a couple of months now...it's a Virgin exclusive. I've even said a few times that it would be coming out right about now...

Comparing the picture of the GJ and pictures of the real thing the BB looks closer - though the real plance looks somewhere in between.

While the real plane is not quite that silver, it is also definitely not white. I would say from a colour perspective Gemini is closer than BB.

It is possible that the GJ is closer. It is hard to tell. But the posts above made it seem like GJ nailed it. I don't think that is true.

While I Generally MUCH Prefer Big Bird (Reputable Company To me At Least)
Big Bird Dropped The Ball On This One. Big Time.

Gotta Hand It To Gemini. The Color is Closer To The Real Thing...The Lady...The LADY!!! You Can See The LADY! & The Wine Glass. Makes Me Want To Take A Drink & Celebrate With Her.) And The Shadow From The "Fold" In The Tail VIRGIN Titles Are Much More Defined On The Gemini.
They Now Need To Work On The Disco Glitter.
Hope I Can Hunt One Of These Pups Down.

...No, if you look at the Virgin titles on the vertical stabilizer, THAT is white...the plane itself is a light pearl silver that can look almost white in the right lighting.

THE PLANE AIN'T WHITE! You want the best example it was already shown when the BigBird was released by a fellow member: http://www.airliners.net/open.file?i...next_id=819892

Compare the white outline of the Virgin titles, the emergency exit markings on the door, THOSE ARE WHITE! See the leading edge of the plane that's dark silver or even look at the cockpit window frames, also silver. See the fuselage, that's light grey/silver in color. Can the plane appear lighter, YES! Can the plane appear darker? YES. The plane ain't white though. Go up close and touch and feel and you can clearly see it ain't white. Or go back to the Tucano days and adjust your damm monitor.

I would say that from the second picture, you posted, that you are closer but i think that it could be tad lighter still, just my opinion though!

Well depends, it's a personal preference, one the one hand you have correct colours but an inferior mould (IMO) on the other hand you have superior mould and inferior colours (IMO).

Now yeah the BB price was over inflated when the model first came out, but the price may start going down, I think some people even paid $75.

Still I don't feel half as bad as the dude who paid $1000 for the Dragon Wings GF 767 sample. Some years ago ... ouch.... that's got to hurt?

Has anyone taking part in this debate actually seen the plane for real? I mean real, not a picture.

Have you had it fly over your head, touch down, taxi, pushback, taxi again and takeoff again...?

I have, trust me folks GJ do the better job.
