Overall Nice model although the "AMERICAN" logo over the cheatline, the font is thicker than on the actual aircraft, its not that thick, needs to loose a little weight.

On another note, one thing gemini has gotten right is the font thickness on the DC-10 above. The AA logo size and position on the tail is excellent. previous AA aircraft gemini has released has really bad font size on the AA logo, most people don't notice but I work everyday next to these aircraft and gemini as far as I can tell from the past hasn't gotten it right. The 757 released few years ago was really bad. Wish they could do a better job on getting the size/position/thickness right on the logo for the vertical stabilizer, the only AA in my fleet right now is the gemini 250 737 both "AMERICAN" and "AA" logo's are spot on and look great. I just wanted to provide a valid balanced view point. The logo to me has to look right to be believable otherwise its just a toy. When it looks like the real aircraft its a collectable , when it doesn't, it belongs in a 99 cent store .Last edited by lokene; 07-05-2005 at 06:42 PM. |

Hi Lokene, can you advise if the metal finish on this model is as real as the actual aircraft? I know this is an old issue in this forum but I heard that this release is closer to the real thing. Is it just an ordinary 'real metal' from GJ? Thanks

This is a nice, ordinary metal finish, not Chrome. The actual model does not look so shiny as seen in the picture, which was taken with 3 lights above it.

Thanks for your input Robert. I hope you wouldn't mind me taking your photo for reference.

No, not at all. As a matter of fact, IMHO, not all pictures reflect the actual object.

I agree, the titles do look off somewhat, but all the engines and the tail look great!
Hopefully we will see an AA MD-11 in the new mould also, that would be nice. ![]() |
