Default Seattle Retailers

I recently moved to the Seattle Area and as such have been looking for some new local retailers. Only two that I've come across that are not mail order are Andrew Klein's (whose it seems to have sporadic business hours if I uderstand correctly) and a business called Planes, Trains and Automobiles up in Bellevue. Just curious if anyone has visited any of the above and if they'd be worth making the trip to? Mainly, how are the selections and prices?
Or would I be better off sticking to online ordering?

planes trains and automobiles has mostly older dragons and newer Geminis. Prices there are standard for new releases. Andrews business is mostly mail order I think?

G'day

I know of three (3). You've got Andrew Klein but I don't know where his new shop is. The second one is over at Boeing Field in the gift shop of the Museum of Flight. The third one is Nick at Jetway Models in Gig Harbor. I don't know if he's got a retail shop or if he works out of his home but you might want to shoot him an email.

HobbyTown USA near Southcenter (next to Cucina Cucina) has a good selection of Gemini, but they're a bit over priced. The Museum of Flight Store at Boeing Field carries Gemini and Herpa. Their prices are relatively high, but if you are a member of the Museum you get a 15% discount, which makes it affordable and convenient for me since I work across the street. The Boeing Store on the west side of Boeing Field carries a limited amount of Herpa and the Gemini C17 (McChord AFB), but the price is somewhat high at $29.99.

Thanks for updates, especially regarding hobbytown in SouthCenter as that's about 5 min from my house. Almost went in there the other day but for some reason got distracted by other duties. May have to pay a visit this evening.
I know there's PeeWee down in Kent, but I believe he's only mail order (I think. If someone can let me know otherwise, I'd appreciate that.) And from browsing previous posts, Nick in Gig Harbor stated that he's only Mail order.
But thanks again for the info. I work at BFI, so I've been to the Boeing store, not much there 'cept for a few gemini c-17's and some boeing fleet 1:500s. Haven't been to the museum store yet. In due time, I'm sure.

I did not know about Hobby Town. It is good to know they are carrying some models. Their participation could help grow the Hobby. Andrew will make an appointment to meet you at his store in Federal Way. I think that Nick posted something a few months ago that had invited hobbyists to call him about a visit to his location. PeeWee, the bum, is mail order only. I visited Trains...etc. They have a limited selection.

I would like to see a complete and well stocked store, such as Adams Jets, ADI, Sky Jets, in the Seattle area. I don't know if there is a customer base to support such a store or not?

There is not!
CAM USA was located in a shopping center for many years, however, with mail order having accounted for 92% of the business activity, the 8% did not justify the rent and required staffing. We did carry the complete range of models in all scales.
