Thumbs up Airbus A380 is Airborne

Airbus A380 is now airborne! Just took off from Toulouse, being shown live on Fox and CNN. The take-off roll and lift off were great - Congrats Airbus!

A little bit more enthusiasm please - this is a historic event. I also watched on BBC World and it was great. Can't wait to catch the landing in about 4 hours time.

Gotta agree with that. Even if it took off in 10 secs using 4,000ft and did a 60-degree climbout----it'd still be ugly. Impressive, but ugly.

OK that's more like it and true, you have a point there. In terms of wingspan, fuselage length and hight it is not a beauty.
BTW: BBC has just announced that landing will be in about 2 hours time, so I keep the TV running.

Actually, the real thing looks a lot better to me than the plaso abominations.

The A380 is beginning to grow on me. (no pun intended)

Thumbs up

The take-off took 36.55 seconds from 32L.

I LOVE IT! I love Boeing too; I miss McDonnell Douglas; I am also enjoy riding on RJs and Props ......

I also wish I had been there. But I am glad (at least) at the historic moment I didn't sleep (DFW local time 330AM).
