Which DC-9 would you want from Gemini next? If you pick an airline with multiple options of colors, post which you prefer.

My choice would be Midway Airlines, in the Red belly, white fusalage, red titles livery. Of course, since we have yet to see any Midway from any model manufactuer I would take a Midway DC-9 in any of the 4 different liveries they wore!

My First Choice would be a C-9 from Gemini would be GREAT, especially if it was a different registration than the SMAs that are around!!
![]() A CLOSE Second would be US Air, again in alternate registration from what we have seen from Others. ![]() |

None actually. I really prefer the Sovereign/SMA mould. I just cannot get past the Gemini bulbous nose on their mould.

Because for TWA twin-stripe, we'd like a -30/40/50 three-pack on the SMA mold.

I have to disagree. Both models have good and bad qualities, but I think the gemini is better overall.
Take for example the AirTran DC-9. Open these three link in different windows so you can compare at the same time. The real thing: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/137905/M/ Gemini http://www.brinkley.cc/PhotoData/GJ/GJ478/GJ478.htm SMA http://www.brinkley.cc/PhotoData/SMA/031201/031201.htm I think the nose on the SMA is way too long. The cockpit windows on the SMA are way off, the didn't get the fusalage indentation correct that runs the length of the fusalage, and the way they attach the stabalizer to the tail is inferior to Gemini. On the Gemini I do think the nose is very slightly too round, but it is the right length, they nailed the fusalage indentation dead on, and their tail looks much better. In the end it all comes down to buyer's preference anyway, but I think the Gemini is much better.

I prefer the SMA ,though the GJ has the color right.
As for the shape of those cockpit windows,GJ managed to get it pretty right facette like on their 1:250 MD-83 which has the same style as the DC-9 and DC-8 in real life................... Quote:

One I would like is missing on the poll, Southern Airlines. The final livery, right before they merged into Republic.

You mean Southern Airways, another superb choice.
I'd be on that like a gliding DC-9 on an old farm road. |

If You Ask Me I Believe The Real Deal Is Smack Dab In The Middle Of The SMA And The Gemini. The Bigger Problem With The Gemini Is It Looks More Like A DC-3 Nose At The Flight Windows. They Are Too Vertical. Also Looking From The Top The Gemini Is Too Wide At The Nose. It Needs To Taper Off Sooner. The Fuselage Is Also A Few mm Too Wide. In This Scale That Makes A Huge Difference. As I Have Always Known The DC-9 To Have A Long Nose, Especially When Exxagerated By Wide Angle Lenses,(I Am Old Enough To Remember Spotting Air Canada DC 9-15 & 30s In YYR, Not To Mention Many From The US At YYR,YYZ,BOS, & MIA.Others FRA,ANU(Antigua. Daily Dose Of BWIA 32s & 50s, Occaissional Eastern 32 & 50s (They Usually Had Many Dailies Of 721 & 722) I Much Prefer The SMA Despite The Other Shortcomings. Rumour Has It That Mould Is Being Re-Worked. |
