I'm not so sure about that, though this may be pure speculations.
Not many more -51s to do to cover European companies (ADRIA and a couple of Italian carries) ,definitely less -41s if not already "used up" (I doubt we would see a -41 for the Nordic East (Sweden)).
Still there are more US liveries for the -51,not to mention South America.
Further more, imagine the potential, should the series -30 mould ever hit the market again. WOW man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought they only stuck to airlines that visited LHR, or something like that.

I bought the British Midland and the KLM. But those and the US and JAS ones you mentioned were from SMA not Sovereign, although, it seems, they were from the same mould as these new Sovereigns.

Dunno, but they certainly were not normally seen in LHR if that's the criteria used by Sovereign for a model. I am sure they must have visited on occasion (anyone find a photo?) but usually they were used on longhaul flights out of ATH. ATH-LHR is about 3hrs flight time.

Well it was there at least twice:

One was subbing for an A340 it seems, so they do use some larger widebodies on that route I guess.

Thanx Sammy, I knew someone would rise to the occasion!
Two different liveries too. I prefer the 1st one.

My understanding is, same mould. Hope things are drier there than they are here! Cheers.

Yes I heard it's been a bit damp again your way with various landslips etc. That must help the traffic flow on the Ventura Freeway. And somebody sang that "it never rains in Southern California"!
It's only about 50 degrees (F) here at the moment which is cold by our standard. But it'll warm up to around 60 in a few days with humidity around 90-95%. Yeuk!

SR DC-9-41 with bare-metal belly and v-tail...

Who ever is behind "Sovereign", one thing's sure. He loves bare/chrome DC-9s.

Well, at least the engines are correct. Just like on the SAS 9-41, LN-RLP.
Impressed by the subjects, not really impressed by the product.

Ok !
So we could have had an all white tail as background for the Swiss flag on the -41 since this leased A/C was in fact a hybrid as far as the livery goes. I can live with this and the polished belly (though it was more faded during lease) and hope to get this pair of Swiss 9's in the not too distant future.
