Default Charley, Frances, Ivan...now Jeanne...

Well it looks like the eastern coast of Florida is going to get battered again. From the way it looks if it strengthens overnight looks like it'll be another weekend in Tallahassee. How are the rest of you Floridians doing?

Yea, Jeanne sure made a strange 360 just north of the Bahamas.

I have relatives in north Miami...sure hope they saved their plywood!

ANother bad one for Florida's First Coast. I had alot of yard damage from Frances that took the better part of a weekend to clean up after. All the work is wearing me out. I suspect I'll lose another 3-4 bushes this go around if not more. AS long as the home survives, that's all I care about.

Default How much more?

Not much. My house was already damaged by Frances and now I fear the worst. I have severe water spots on my ceiling from water dripping in through the roof. I lost half my roofing tiles and now I have tarps covering the bare spots. Those tarps probably won't last long. I am expecting major water damage inside the house this go around.

I often see a thread on DAC about what models you would save if you could only save 1 or 2. Well at least I have time to save all. I am currently putting them all back in their boxes and will put them in a very safe place. I will not lose my collection to a hurricane. I will keep them with me when I leave tomorrow among some of my other valuables.

It's really humbling to think about what is really important to me right now. What do I really want to save and what could I "let go". Think about it. Look around your house and see what you really think you have to have. It sucks.

I would never wish this on anyone, friend or foe. I will be taking my computer when I leave tomorrow so I will try to let you know how I faired through the storm when I have a chance.

Our last flight out of PBI is supposed to be 2002 and 2064 at 1300. We'll see how the storm is moving, that will dictate when PBI closes. Anyone else in the path of this hurricane, I wish you well.

Take care.

FLORIDA SUCKS I am just about at my wits end with this hurricane season.

Another blow we appear to be just west of the eye (Saint Cloud) I hope we make it ok with this one they are expecting 80+ mph winds in my area gusting to 105 Someone upstairs does not like the "Sunshine State"

Hope to be back on-line soon

At this stage of the game, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in Florida just up and moved north into Georgia (Don't come to Atlanta, takes me long enough already to commute) or into another state. I hear Michigan doesn't get many Hurricanes

Well I'm back up in Tallahassee. Well at least for now we will get a small break after Jeanne from the way things look. Good luck to all Floridians.

JohnnyB:

So you're in Daytona. I'm about 65 miles north up 95. I saw all of the damage. Jax has alot of damage...trees and flooding. One fatality...a tree fell on a teenager. When all of this gets settled and we start to put out lives together again, we should get together sometime! Russ Epstein isn't too far either. Then there is Jorge in Miami. I bet there is a good many Florida collectors around the state!

Yes, I'm definately up for a meeting. I'm actually driving back from Tallhassee today and driving right through Jacksonville on my way back. I'll PM you my number so maybe we can hook up one of these days.
