Default Announcing the 400 Scale Hangar Club!

The Hangar Crew at 400 Scale Hangar is proud to announce the first and only club in co-operation with AeroClassics!
We will have highly limited releases that will feature variant/hybrid or 'special' schemes based on regular Aeroclassics releases.

We are now taking memberships for the first 85 who sign up!
  • To join the club all you will need is a one time $10 lifetime membership fee.
  • We will have 4 to 5 exclusive models released per year
  • And they will ONLY be available to club members (none to the public)

Visit this page to read more and signup: www.400scalehangar.com/club.htm

Please note that our first release will be in August and will be a prop aircraft.

Thumbs down go get a job!

Q. Club fee? A. As is the case with most clubs of any sort, a small nominal fee is charged for joining the Hangar Model Club. The fee is $10.00 US, but is not a yearly fee, rather a lifetime fee. Once you have paid this entry fee, you can receive models as long as you remain a club member.

What games??

Aeroclassics would not be releasing these so we decided to offer them.....

I'm confused at what you're upset about?

Skymaster,

I don't really see what your problem with the club is. If you don't want to join, it's a free world, don't.

This club will offer new (not old) releases, that will be variants of what Aeroclassics will release in the near future. Kind of like the way Jet-X makes their club models, but of course more retro's.

If you do not like it, that is fine....

Four or five models per year for only ten bucks? That works out to only $2.00 or 2.50 per model! Wow, that's a good deal!

Sorry Skymaster. Your deep thought objections didn't sway me and I signed up. $10 is not going to kill me for a chance at getting some interesting models. Let's see I've paid $40 for the SMAC club which netted 1 model and what $20 for the Gemini club which has netted about three models. I'm not complaining about the other two clubs and feel that this club has potential. Save yourself the $10 skymaster and buy a beanie baby or something of real value.

Arrow Yeah, Baby!

Well, I read the FAQ about this club on Faheem's Fellatio Funhouse. It says you can join up and receive two models with membership if you are willing to buy them. Cool beans! I definitely gonna sign up for this deal - one model for me and one for eBay (and big-time profits ) - it's a win / win situation.

When it comes right down to it I am DAC (dumb assed and cynical) on the other hand I am smart enough to realize that the 400 Hanger Club has offered to me a unique opportunity to buy some AeroClassics models. I like AC models, I buy every release. I can't say that for DW or even GJ, yet I like there models too. So this club makes perfect sense to me. Don't let your loyalties cloud your common sense. Join the club because I think these club models are going to kck *** (not dumb ***) stuff.

Eh? I think the club is a great idea. The point of my post had nothing to do with the club. Please don't preach to me about loyalties...

Default Some Serious Questions

SERIOUS QUESTIONS:

Maybe, I’m slow, but where is the link describing the club?

Can we sign up in 2 – 3 months so we can first see what the releases are like, or does it need to be now?

And most important: If we sign up, can we turn down models we are not interested in, or are we committed to buying them all?

The link is in the very first post in this thread.

You can wait 2 or 3 months but there are only 85 memberships being offered and there filling fast!

Yes, you must buy all releases but there will only be 4 or 5 a year and with the very limited quantities, you will have no problem getting rid of any you don't want.

Also, there is talk of offering other exclusives to club members (other than the 'must buy' models)

Hope this helps

Skymaster.... I've been pondering this little episode ever since it happened earlier today. What’s with all the resentment?? If they want to “play games” then let them.. They were even nice enough to invite others to come and “play games” with them… I’m sure that the cost of these models more than justify the $10.. As for me, Its not financially feasible for me to join.. If it was, I would be all over it!! But I’m not going to bash those that are, nor the ones who created it.

MY PERSONNAL OPINION!!
This little line that has been draw in the sand of a playground mentality that has been building between SMAC vs. AC has gotten pretty ridiculous.. Obviously something has happened between these two companies BUT it should STAY between these two companies. I have my respects for what both Gordon and Andrew has brought to this wonderful hobby. IMHO!!!

As for Faheem and his site,.. STILL MY OPINION!! It’s a top-notch forum!! They have all the wonderful qualities of DA.C minus the flame wars…. They don’t want it there, and they don’t put up with it there!! Simple as that!! YES he’s on good terms with Andrew and they have joint ventures on the site. GREAT!! But Faheem (and Todd for that matter) has been about as neutral as anyone CAN be and still be as involved as he is in this hobby. There is a thread that was started in the OFF TOPICS session at 400SH in regards to this lil escapade. Faheem actually avoids bashing and instead acknowledges the contribution/roll of DA.C to the hobby. I think that says a lot for him, considering the BS that went down on this thread..

I love and respect all three of the forums DA.C, 400SH, and The BUZZ!! They all have their place in this hobby and differently contribute vast amounts of knowledge in both the hobby and in aviation in general.. I’ve had my fun with flame wars, and will continue to do so here.. but for heavens sake.. with this topic, the fun is leaving and some are getting just out right hateful. Taking cruel pot shots with no ounce of tact or humor.. There’s enough Hate in the world to have to bring it in this wonderful place.

Its not about forums & not about "Faheem or Todd", but asking for membership for permision to buy models is nonsense.
remember SMA & those membership we were asked to pay?

you do what you goanna do but I for one won't pay a dime, if manufacturers want my money those models should be available in stores where I can check them & obviously I shouldn't "HAVE" to buy all of them.
I respect your opinion, hope you do the same.

I hate to interupt this interesting thread here, but I just wanted to inform you all that we have less than 15 positions left for the club.

So if you're thinkin about joining, better think quickly.

You may now resume your organized "off-topicness".

Hey, I tried to send my money to join Faheem's fellatio club but he told me that I'm not welcome there. Bummer. There goes my eBay profits plan right out the window. You guys suck.

Well it's a free world, you can pay your $10 and buy a few models or you can stay out. Personally I'm in the group that objects to the whole principle of these clubs charging for the right to buy models, but that's just my opinion,

You know Tom, as much as you hate me (for what I reason I don't know) you are more than welcome to join.

I'm not sure it would be the same way for me, if you were the one holding a club, but that's just the type of person I am.

So is it like preordering the opportunity to preorder? Or is it preordering a preorder? If I preorder the preorder does the order have any greater insurance that if it was just preordered?

This suspiciously sounds like a business plan KJC recently discussed with me to start a business that sells nothing but preorders.

And before any one gets their panties in a bunch, this is a satirical post coming from a known smarta*s.

Actually Doc, it's a pre-pre-order for a pre-pre-production of our pre-club releases that will be pre-sold through the pre-club.

As for the club, we are happy to say that all positions have now been filled. Much faster than anticpated actually.
