Default A340 Mystery Solved

I got a confidential E-mail from my inside source, that solves the mystery.

Airbus did this as a favor to Dragon!!!

Everyone knows the two have a very close working relationship.

Well, Dragon screwed up and built 2,000 A340 models where:
A) They accidentally left off the center gear. (They were trying to correct their A330-200 models, but got confused.)
B) They accidentally glued an A380 engine in the No. 2 slot.

Anyway, they convinced Airbus to test fly a plane in this configuration, so they can sell their models and say they are accurate! (Model should be announced in June/July)

Airbus agreed to this, to make up for what happened last week, when they accidentally sent Dragon pictures of the raw metal (factory green) SAS A330 and Dragon went ahead and made the models that way. See:

HAHA, Truth is they were testing the engine like Boeing did with the original B747. Also the A340 can have its centre gear locked in the up position, but unlike the DC 10 on the A340 its done by Maintenance so if they have the gear up they can't have as much wieght and it becomes a 4 engine A330 basically.
