Default Is anyone else getting bored?

Ever since those beautiful Electras from AC nothing of any interest to me has been released or is on preorder, frankly I am getting a little bored with the releases as of late. I would really like to see more international retros to give us a brake from all the west coast retros and Braniff releases we've been bombarded with......that is unless an Air California L-188 is in the works.

I was impressed with the new AC Nordair/Canadian Ice patrol L-188, D. Bird. Not so much with the connies yet they were well done as well, I thought.

As long as the Virgin Atlantic models keep coming from Gemini every so often I'll be happy...

No! The hobby to me has great releases. Not much of a complainer so would not know what torment some of you put yourself through.

I thought Eddy was the only Atlantic Virgin you were interested in!

Actually I welcome the break. It gives me a chance to pay off a few models!

It seems things go in cycles. Probably there will be another batch of releases that will create a stirr eventually. This is a good time to do some relaxed collecting and hunting for things I need.

Thumbs up

Couple of breaks in one year are good for next purchase.

I've seen pictures of the new Nordairs, the L-188's looks good, I didnt like the door printing on the Connies, how is the mould different from the previous AC Connie mould?

DB, it seemed to me that when I looked at the Air Ceylon and the Pakistan Connies there was a screw in the belly. I may be wrong. If I am right then the new mould has no screw but it does have a hole for a stand. I think A. Klein spent a lot of time with this mould. The other difference, of course, between the Nordair and the earlier Connies is the lack of decals. In my opinion, the Nordair Connies are exceptionally well done.

Whether you like the new GJ C-17s or not, and I am happy for Gemini Jets, because the USAF C-17 has already sold out. I wonder if the Royal AF C-17 will follow suit?

You didn't get the Southwest Airlines 9 pack that was announced, released and sold out just yesterday?

Default I welcome a little 'boring' down time

Quite frankly I too welcome a little down time. It gives me time to take a deep breath and make sure that I'am still in keeping with the way I want my collection to go and not just getting caught up in a buying frenzy....given that recently a lot of good stuff has come out from both the 1/400th scale arena as well as the 1/200 inflight releases.

Financially its been a real challenge keeping up with everything that I have needed/wanted and a breather here is certainly welcome relief.

Especially when the next round of releases promises to be another heavy 'hit' what with all the military aircraft coming from both DW and GJ and who know what 'surprises' from Jet-x and AC. And of course now a newly rumoured release from INFLIGHT to be the Northwest 707 old paint scheme......geezzzzz
