Alaska Airlines is thinking about retiring the Boeing 737-200 Combi and replacing it with the 737-700.They will convert some of the 700's into combis. Also Alaska was not to have anymore MD-80's by this year either, however their lease company gave Alaska a good deal to release the MD's for a few more years,so in few years from now ;no more MD-80's.Alaska wants an all 737 fleet!

NOOOOOOO!!! I love Alaska Airlines and I also love the 737, but an Alaska Air without MD-80s is like hell!

Alaska has been thinking of getting rid of the 732 for some time now ... they tried out a US Navy C-40 Clipper for a while to see if that aircraft was suitable (the C-40 Clipper is a 737-700 combi) ... but it is incredibly expensive to purchase new ... whereas you can pick up many lowtime 732s for cheap.
