airlines

U seems to need to travel around the Asia

In HK you could go to
Toymax - reasonable price but limited in stocks
Airbus - a bit high price but lots of stocks
Westmain - cheap price but very very limited in stocks

the addresses are here
www.expressowings.com

then go to authorized dealers

westmain: would highly recomend Westmain with their cheap prices and very accomodating staff. limited stock though as mentioned above. I think Ms. Kwok is in charge over there. Joseph has been really friendly to me as well.

I have had some success with:

http://www.ptcity.com.hk/

Pretty good selection/prices...but you have to email them before ordering to see what they have still in stock and the price.

I get mine at Airbus models, or UML at Windsor House (for DW). But I've bought one or two at the airport shop while out spotting, sometimes they have stuff I just can't find in the city.

Never heard of Toymax, but they do have a really big selection. I should try them out.

Hi guys,

Thank you for giving me your best information. I have visited the website as you guys have suggested, Toymax. But I have noted that most of their products list do not has their price on. So, am I have to write in for the price whenever I need it? I also noted that they do not have any Dragonwings' models...

What about the rest shops which NWO, Richard Allen and Jao have mentioned? Do they have any website to visit?

Once again, thank you very much.

Regards,

Yeah, prices at toymax are ok, but Westmain's Ms Kwok is a lot nicer then those two guys. In two occasions I didn't find the models I wanted, and while I was scanning for any other option (that I MAY have bought despite not finding what I WAS LOOKING FOR), they started giving me mean looks.

probably the problem is that I didn't load up a truck of models (what taiwanese usually do in Hong Kong so they can sell it back home??). I was just looking for models to expand my own collection.

Toymax wil be my second choice after Westmain....Attitude versus Price, i stay with a better mood. C'mon, a hobby is supposed to be fun!

I never have problem with Toymax even though I only purchase one or two models everytime. Often I did not purchase anything.

airlines: I don't know if the shops themselves have websites, I can give you directions to find them if you want. I think the owner of Airbus models has his email adress written on a card stuck to the door, I can get that for you if you want. I'm going onto town tomorow and plan to swing by there anyway, I'll grab his email address for you to contact him about stocks, arrivals, and pricing.

Anyway, I did a bit of scouting around on the Dragon site and found the distributor for DW in HK, UML, the bolded one is where I get my DW's from. I think there's a URL at the bottom for more information.

Distributor in Hong Kong*
Company : Universal Models Ltd.

Tel : 2714-1268
Address : Shop A315, 3/F, New Town Plaza, Phase 3, Shatin, N.T., Hong Kong

Never had any problems with Toymax either in person or online, they`re the best.Robert and Jerry the most helpful unlike other retailers that try to pull the fast one on you.

crushWRX, you're right about the service at UML. But sometimes they have models which I just can't find anywhere else.

airlines: no worries. BTW I got that email address for you.
airbusmodels@hotmail.com. It's a great store and has a huge selection with some very rare birds.

Hmm.....compared to that unhappy man in the "happy shop" in monkok, "Jerry and Robert" are nice people. I guess I was lucky nobody tried to pull the fast one on me in other places!
