Unhappy 747SP's ... when can we see the next one!?

Any idea if anymore SP's are due to be announced?

QF and SAA o/c are on the agenda I should think. It has been long enough.

Sure SAA o/c, QF o/c and n/c B747SPs are on my waiting list.

Since China Airlines o/c, Korean o/c and n/c are done, CAAC and/or Air China B747SP maybe an option (but not a must for me).

I think the B747SP is the ugliest ariframe Boeing ever produced and I don't care if anyone produces another model of one. See, you are not being ignored.

I don't think Boeing 747SP is really so bad.
Boeing 747SP was the longest range jet aircraft and fastest speed (the record made by a China Airlines in an incident).
Boeing 747SP was a wonderful speed bird, thank you for their contributions in the past!!!

The next 747SP should be the UAL n/c followed by the SAA o/c. After that it really doesn't matter what livery is released next.

Well ya know, I never owned any 74SP models before this weekend, and I shared your thoughts. But having bought two of them, I can honestly say the SP model looks quite nice. Besides those aweful engine pylons, the mould is great.

Though I really don't have any SP's on my 'wish-list' though.

I've seen more elegant planes than the B747SP, but a Qantas B747SP would be interesting!!!

Qantas and Saudi B747Sp would be sweet. They got my vote.

Default The next SP?....How about

anything with Rolls engines? A final colors Qantas would be great. Would also like to see a custom SP with 744 aerodynamic improvements and winglets.

BTW: Were all the Iran Air SP's from Gemini mis-printed with only 4 cockpit windows? I want one, but not like that.

Default CHINA AIR 747SP

Its too bad that China Air a few years back had a 747SP coming to the US and the flight crew did not realize that although the auto-pilot was on the altitude hold on the modular control panel some how released and before the crew could catch it the aircraft stalled and ended up going into a dive. The flight crew eventually saved the aircraft from its dive by extending gear and flaps at speeds much higher than the maximum allowed and after the aircraft landed it was discovered that the aircraft had major hual damage...I believe the horizontal stablizers were bent off center to the fuselage.

I believe that the aircraft was not repairable however I couldn't swear on the fact.

A pity because even though the 747SP was a shortened version of the 747-200 it did serve a very useful purpose in that its nitch was for a minimum capacity but long haul market and indeed did serve in this capacity very well.

The SP is a real nice aircraft.

But I'm sorry to say, the GJ mould has a big problem:
Wingroots are to fat and so they sit to high on the fuselage.
Thus causing the cheatline/doors and UD sittting to far up on the fuse. Just check on the CAL pic posted above.
That fact + aweful pylons + lack of wing-detail throughs the whole model of.
BTW: I nevertheless have three of them (UA, AA and KAL o/c)

If GJ makes a 2nd generation mould and gets a SAA o/c (Springbok) cs on it, I'll be first to get one or more.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a GJ QANTAS 747SP. Those aircraft use a special version of the RR engine, and GJ does not currently have the mould for that type of engine. But who knows? Maybe someday...

In the meantime, how about another Northwest 744? Or Lufthansa, I like them too!

The Qantas Nalanji 743 has the older Rolls...maybe GJ can reverse mould them.
